I think I may be an optomistic member of the March club :smile: My MCS was ordered for me while I was in Australia on 1/3/2003 and then after I changed a few things (I changed my mind on color about 8 times.. I think the dealer hates me) I got a prod. date of 2/14/2003 - So I am REALLY hopefull that it gets here in March! Can't wait to motor! For those of you interested I eventually decided on Indi/White w/Sport, Cold Weather, Everything in the Prem. Package but the sun roof (gotta get a roof graphic!) and the HK Stereo **bumps along in the new MINI**

Most roof decals come in a perforated material that is made for minis with sunroofs at a slightly higher price than the normal decals. I haven't actually seen one, but read that you can't tell from the inside that you have it on, as it still allows sun light inside. although, not that i'm actually thinking about it, the decal would look kinda messed up when the roof was open. Plus it's probably too late to make any changes anyway, but thought you'd like to know...

But, welcome aboard. I have the same production date as you, and from what the askmini lady told me, they are generally done by that date, so you should be motoring by march! wooooo!

I like seeing those "Booked on XXX" statuses on the same "production date" as mine :smile: Will probably call ASK-MINI tomorrow to see what's been happening with "Die Frau" during the past week. Perhaps booked onto a vessel, ja? There are four of them going from Southhampton to Baltimore within February, I see. One could be mine . . .

One of those ships -- CARMEN -- doesn't appear on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen spreadsheet. Is there another line that ships MINIs? Also, I see on on the sheet abbreviated "OTE" that has no corresponding name in the key. Does anyone know what the deal is?

I did a little digging using Bill's regular updates to try and gauge timeframes as mine just went 150 on 2/6. Since Bill's mini had the most updates, I'll use his as an example. He went...

150 on 1/24 Production Started
155 on 2/3 Production Completed
160 on 2/4 Released to Distribution
182 on 2/4 Released to Carrier
193 on 2/6 Arrived at port of exit (Booked on CARMEN)

So, in summary, it took 10 days from start to complete, then 3 days to arrive at port of exit. In looking at the ships schedules, CAR is set to depart 2/14 destined for NYC. Looks like his didn't sync up with the ship departure dates the best as he is sitting for a week waiting to leave.

Now, I'm hoping if I apply the same timeframes to my Mini...

150 on 2/6 Production Started
155 on 2/16 ???
182 on 2/17 ???

I don't know the work schedule at the factory so don't know if anything happens on weekends...but there is a ship leaving 2/19 (HTN) destined for NYC with arrival on 2/28. So....is there a slight possibility mine will make that boat??? If not, it seems that the TOS leaving on 2/22, arrriving on 3/3 might be the most probable. Of course, I'm also unsure as to how much time the cars need to sit at port of exit before getting loaded. I'm just counting the minutes and trying to entertain myself is all....

The CARMEN is actually listed twice on the spreadsheet. If you slide WAY over to the right, it should show up as a 2/14 departure date. Of course now it has slipped to 2/15. Grrrrrr..

I also forgot to mention....If you have your VIN#, you can use the last 7 characters (from the "T" on) to see if they have you listed. Once you're on your way to the ship, ASK-MINI doesn't seem to have as much visibility anymore.

bethandlouis welcome to our club! I've added you to the list and it's good to know we have plenty of party MINIs on the CARMEN! The VPC trek seems to be a crap-shoot. Anywhere from a couple of days to over a week. People from the Feb club have been saying ASK-MINI says their car is at the VPC, then 10 minutes later the dealer calls and says to come pick it up at the dealership.

BTW, where are you located so I can complete your entry on the list?
