Headliner spot droop

A half foot of the headliner is becoming unglued and is in a hard spot to repair. The area is next to the windshield on the drivers side.
How do I glue it in such a difficult/awkward spot? I have the 3M adhesive and the only way I can think of is to mask off areas that might get adhesive fallout and blindly shoot adhesive up hoping to get enough in the right spot.

A pic would help. You might have to peel more headliner in order to have clear access to apply the adhesive. Make sure the adhesive is set before reapplying the headliner and don’t apply to much adhesive to avoid soak through of the adhesive.

Pic isn’t real clear but I can see the general area you are dealing with. You’ll have to get creative. Definitely mask off anything you don’t want adhesive on. As I said you will have to either peel down more liner to access the back of it or hold down what is loose and spray as best you can. Unless you want to remove the entire headliner! Wear gloves if you try spraying what’s hanging as it appears your fingers will be in the way.

I had the same thing happen to me recently. I masked it up as best I could, Shot adhesive in there nearly blind, and gave it a good rub to it stuck. It's not perfect, but it's way better than having the headliner sagging in front of me all the time. Someday I'll get around to replacing the whole headliner, but til then, I'm pretty pleased with this fix.

Nice to hear from someone with the same issue. Will, the process looks exactly what I was thinking I have to do. I hope I won't have to do the entire headliner - probably will sell it by then.

I did the same thing until I replaced the entire headliner. Here's a tip, mask off your windshield, dash, rear view mirror, etc with masking tape and newspaper to avoid over spray. That stuff just sucks to remove. If you get over spray on the outside of the headline, just leave it. It'll cause more damage trying to remove it or clean it.

Good info as I had not thought about the rear view mirror. Will do extra masking on the outside of the headliner.

You can also remove the rear view mirror pretty easily, might help.

Just be careful you do not pull the weak headliner down by putting tape on it.

I didn't. I held a piece of cardboard up to try and block any overspray, it worked OK but was somewhat awkward.

I just replaced my headliner this past weekend. Did it myself. Not to hard, just time consuming. I paid 38 for the liner material on ebay, plus 2 cans of adhesive spray. Mine was doing the same thing. Hardest part was removing the A pillar. Those clips are a mother !@#$%&. Looks awesome. I went with a charcoal black.
