Looking for R53 JCW Aero Front Bumper

Hi there - I am new to the group and hoping someone might be able to help me find a new front bumper. I was recently in a 5 car collision and the body shop cannot locate the R53 JCW Aero Front Bumper. Any advice or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks Captain Obvious! This is why people come to forums...looking for someone who might have a lead on one. It if was available as Mini part still, she wouldn't be here. I personally think she should have let the car be totaled but she loves the car. Can't fault her for that.

I’m curious why the lack of support for these needed parts. There’s obviously a demand for them. I’m wanting to change my front and rear bumper covers. I bought the car with a cracked rear cover and the front has some dings and screw holes from licesns plate. Seems like OEM is practically the only solution.

You can always try to repair it if there is enough of it left to do the job. I have resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to have to plasti-weld my damaged front R53 JCW bumper cover or have someone do it for me.

I'm wondering if MINI is not allowing part companies to reproduce the bumper cover or that said companies don't believe there's enough of a market to warrant production of the part.

Really?
How are we supposed to know the history of wanting this part?
Tone down the snarky dude, was just trying to be helpful.

I think this is what you are looking for? I'm guessing this is not OEM. I have no knowledge of the quality.

Aftermarket Aero Front Bumper

That looks like a pretty decent replacement facia for an R53 JCW bumper. The main issue is that it's overseas (UK) and would most likely be mucho $$$ to ship to USA or Canuckland. I'd also be afraid that it could be damaged during shipment.

Thanks for sharing this, though

I asked for a shipping quote and they replied right away - £165 ($215 USD). Steep but to be expected since it would be coming from overseas and would be a large parcel. That would come to approx. $440 USD+ taxes. That would come out to over $580 CAD. Ouch.

If you go this route, please post about the quality of it. I have the aero kit and my front bumper is cracked up a bit from years of road goodies.

215USD for shipping isnt' that bad. Ground shipping was easily > $150 when I was searching for a bumper a couple of yrs ago from a vendor.

Car-Part.com is another source. They have a database into many salvage yards across the country. I pieced together a set of BBS wheels one time with this site.

Select Front Bumper, then Aero Base (I think the Base and S is the same bumper).

MAKE SURE TO GET A PIC. Many of the salvage yards have no idea what they are posting and thus many may be regular bumpers. You may get lucky and find one in your color. It looks like there are three posted right now.

We sold out all the front aero kit bumpers, we have the rear for the R50, can be modded to fit the R52 base. We are the last people to have these in stock, new. All the older JCW stuff for the Gen 1 and some of the Gen 2 MINIs are going nla, so if you can find them, get them asap.

Car-parts,com is a good place but most of them have been bumped in the front and you might be able to fix it with a good body shop.

looks perfect, too bad they don’t ship to USA. Maybe they would if someone in the USA became a distributor, like ECS Tuning

I have a complete Aero Kit on my R53, its Dark Silver. I'll be going back to the standard sideskirts, front and rear bumpers in a couple weeks. PM me if you're interested in the entire kit. I'm in Socal.

It would be nice if a reproduction was made with the black trim parts as actually black textured plastic... Instead of having to paint those parts with black "structured" paint. I think the Gen 2 aero is set up that way.

Thanks ECS for doing something up!
Update when possible!

:

For the op:

If you have any LKQ junkyards near where you live, might get lucky by checking their site as they have photos of cars on the yard.

For example,
here's a recent listing for the LKQ Daytona Beach location:

Looking for R53 JCW Aero Front Bumper-fjbhlwu.png
Looking for R53 JCW Aero Front Bumper-2fyme83.png
Looking for R53 JCW Aero Front Bumper-yq8cvt3.png

I wish more junkyards posted photos of their inventory!!!!
