Aero is oem fit, no side marker lights (euro type), Garbino if you want a cool design and be one of the few MINIs with it. It takes some time to get in as they are made one by one in Japan. Just like Duell AG, but they dont have parts for Gen 1 MINIs anymore.

have you seen the Garbino kit in person? How’s the quality?
I was sorta lucky that I started buying some of this stuff right before it went NLA and did get a set of those, but from what I've read they aren't actually required and quite a few folks have ran an aero bumper without them.
In Japan is where we see a bunch of MINIs that have piles of money dumped into them
When i saw it and looked at my bumper on my R52 it looks to bolt up. I have not seen or heard of any issues. I know the duell ag one is the best in quality and fitment, this is right behind them.
Here is the paint for the bumper that is to recreate the black textured trim since its part of the bumper. Here is the SEM products needed: SEM39143 and SEM39853
I finally understand how my aero bumper is SUPPOSED to be attached. Had a reg R53 before this JCW+aero kit. My front bumper seems bastardized and is missing both of those fastening brackets and instead is missing a bit of the middle overhang where the oil pan skid plate attaches, and instead they have a V cut out in the middle to attach the bumper using the skid plate bolt. It's missing most of the holes where these brackets would actually attach.... Least now I know how it's supposed to be attached...
Sadly, my 06 MINI got hit while parked on the side of the street. I just ordered the aero bumper from ECS, and will post pics when it's installed and back to normal. I was so worried I wouldn't be able to find a bumper, but glad that ECS is working hard to get these back. I ordered some OEM fastening brackets from FCP Euro, so will see if they ship or not, bc one site I found that had them, refunded me for not carrying them anymore. If FCP doesn't have them, then maybe I don't need them, since someone above said it's not a necessity...stay tuned!!!
Thanks for the kind words. Yes work with a lot of supplier as I am MINI owner (know a lot of the people in the industries) to try to bring these things back. Not all get the ok to be produced but we try, otherwise you would be depending on other places to carry them. Which they are not focused on MINI. We have some parts now for the Gen 2 and Gen 3 MINI in JCW aero parts now (that are becoming nla).
We got the last in the world of the of the JCW GP1 cars covers new. Once gone they are gone.
I finally got my car back and the ECS Tuning front aero bumper looks brand new! The body shop said it fit right on, but there are some minor issues with the parking and fog lights. They aren't as secure anymore. I documented my journey on YouTube. If you're curious about the bumpers, watch this. Here's a quick photo of the new bumper on the car.
Hey @minimic , your RG R53 looks great as always. I installed one of those bumpers last year too. It fit pretty perfectly. You can see on my channel in the signature below (it’s the Dark Silver car)
Just wanted to share one pointer. There is a texture paint available for doing the black trim on these bumpers. It will match the look of the plastic side trim. Something you may want to consider. The bonnet should be able to get better alignment too. There are a few adjustments, perhaps the dealer can sort that out for you.
Glad you take the time and effort needed to keep your car on the road and well maintained. It’s one of the nicer looking R53s out there and especially unique in Royal Gray.
Thanks so much for the kind words! Yeah, I know about the textured paint. Might look into it. The hood gap is an issue, and the parking / fog lights aren’t as snug as the JCW bumper. I’ll have to see if the dealership can address that as well. Overall pleased with this ECS Tuning bumper. At least she’s back to normal. Thanks for chiming in!
I ended up having the reflectors painted at the body shop, and you can’t even tell they are there. Still need to take the bulb out of the socket bc you can see it around the edges at night.
As for getting the hood gap fixed and bumper attached properly, I’m having a local detail shop work on that. It’ll be next month, but will definitely post pics of the fully detailed MINI with PPF, and the hood / bumper area. Stay tuned!
