Power Steering Letter

I didn't search, sorry. Just FYI I got a letter about a month ago stating they are recalling something with my power steering and wait for another letter to come soon. 2004 R53 S

I got mine a few weeks ago. When I called yesterday, I was told that the second letter would be out in February. I was getting concerned because I am at 148,500 miles and wanted to make sure that I didn't have to worry about the warranty expiring at 150K. I was told that the recall will not have a mileage cap.

I'm really looking forward to bringing in my 02 r50 with over 210k miles to get a new power steering pump. I almost want to keep that pump though as my 06 has had more power steering issues with barely over 100k but for some reason the 06 wasn't recalled...

Received mine at the beginning of December.

mine failed 1,000 miles past the extended warranty. What ticked me off is I had brought it in prior to that and the dealer wouldn't do anything since they couldn't replicate the issue.

I did call MINI USA to see if they were going to reimburse owners who made the repairs on their own (like they did when they extended the PS warranty) and was told yes, but I'd put my comfort level with the knowledge of the person I was speaking to at a 2 on the famous 5 scale.

Not sure if the recall applies to 05, but they should perform the recall service regardless of receiving the letter. Should be able to just call the dealer and give them the vin to confirm.

That sucks. Good luck in getting that refunded!

I've checked online with my vin and no dice.. nothing listed for active recalls.. only my passenger air bag seat sensor.
