Me too.

 

My car was on the Isolde, which was supposed to dock on 8/19 in New York, but I believe did not make it until 8/20. Once unloaded, W&W can't track it, and ASKMINI says that they can not track it anymore either. They tell me to call the dealer. How does he track it if they can't?


The Owner's Lounge says that the car has an EDD of 8/24, but that can't be possible - cars just do not get through the VPC that fast. At this point I expected that someone would have called me about programmable options, but no soap. Guess I'll just have to wait.

 

My MCS is also on the Maersk Wind, and I hope the pirate rumors are just that.

I just talked to my MA, I'm making them take that cupholder out- I don't like it at all. I stop for breakfast a lot, and the other morning I happened to get a leaky cup, doesn't happen very often, but the old MINI cupholder kept it from dripping on my carpet...! I'll stick with the older style, I like it much better, and it mounts lower, more out of the way.

 

Does anybody have a way to contact K-line or NYK shipping? I am pretty sure my mini is not travelling on a WW vessel as it has been sitting on the dock for four days now and has not been scanned by WW as being Received at Terminal. I am trying to contact the other two shipping lines mentioned in this forum and the OL so that I can find out what the shipping schedule is. My MA doesn't seem to keep their records up to date so I don't have a bill of lading number. I would just like to contat these shippers to see which one is handling the shipment to Port Hueneme, CA and when it will be loaded on a boat. It would be nice to know a rough estimate as to when it will be coming to Utah. Hopefully I can get it in time to do some motoring before winter hits and I can't use my sunroof. Thanks in advance.

I just stopped by my dealer in Dallas to see some 2005's. My HB/W MCS is due any day now. Every 2005 they recently got in (w/in the last couple of days) still had the old MINIFini cupholder in them. Upon further review, I think I like the older one better than the photos I've seen of the new one. It seems alot sturdier than the pictures portray the new one. Anyway, I hope I get the previous style in mine when it shows up on Monday.

I dropped by my dealer (Downtown Mini, Orlando) today and they have my Mini listed as IN PRODUCTION! Yea!

I still have never seen a 2005 MCS in person. Every one they get in goes right out to a customer. Mine may be the first I see.

I wonder how many other people buy cars (other than MINIs) without seeing them. I test drove an 04 MC, but like GLJones, have never actually seen an 05 like I am getting. In the past I would never have considered buying a car I had not seen or driven.

I, like you, ordered my 05 "sight unseen," but I test drove an 04, and did exhaustive research on the car and expected changes. I've ordered many cars like this. I ordered a 98 New Beetle before I ever saw or drove one. I ordered a 2003 Honda Element before I ever saw one in person or drove one. (and I ordered the stick 4-wheel drive model that didn't even exist when I ordered it.)


I still have both cars and am very happy with both. I like to order new cars at the beginning of the year and order exactly the color and options I want. Nothing wrong with this technique. You just have to understand that first year models often have bugs that will have to be worked out. Remember the old saying "You can always spot a pioneer, he's the one with all the arrows sticking out of him!"
