Cadbury, I am trying to figure out when my car will start production by seeing when others have ordered. I too went on the wait list in january and then ordered July 2nd and it seems like everyone who ordered around me is going into production. My MCS was originally a week 32, but got bumped to week 33. All the week 32 people seem to have started production about a week early and now the week 33 people are starting. Hopefully my status will change tomorrow. I guess I am being impatient

 

This is a great site! I ordered my MC on 7/16/04 and was told by my MA that it would arrive mid-September. I've been checking the website everyday and it's still "on order." Well, I read about AskMini in several posts so I gave them a call. I didn't speak to a real person but at least it said "Scheduled for Production" no date set. I guess I'll call every day now.

Logged into the OL for the first time since yesterday morning and my page has been updated! I now have a VIN# assigned to Katie. :smile:

When I called ASKMINI, it says I'm in production with a completion date of August 10th!!! She's been bumped up 3 days for my original estimate.

 

Well, after ordering June 10, I'm finally in production with completion due next Saturday. I'd held off from posting in the hope of hopes that I'd actually make it into the July group, but here I am!

Looks like I'll be ready for Motoring in Vermont for the fall at least

I just checked the OL and it has been updated, but not far enough to match Ask Mini. OL says The Car is scheduled for production, but Ask Mini (automated) tells me that it is in production with an estimated completion date of August 9th. Sounds like The Car and Katie could be on the same boat.

After seeing all the clever names many of you have given to your Minis, I dicided that I needed one also. I had been putting it off because my wife thinks it would be a bit over the top, so I compromised.

I took my lead from an old magazine ad which gave directions for showing old classmates that you have made it without actually doing so. (Show up at the class reunion driving a '55 Thunderbird convertible and referr to it as "the Ford") With that in mind, I have decided to call my Mini The Car.

Yahoo!!!!! I just checked the OL and to my surprise, my status has changed to "awaiting transport" :smile: :smile: :smile: :smile: .... so, does that mean, I'm on my way to a ship? for all those that are in the know, how do I check which ship it gets on? I can't wait.....

Woohoo! Just called ASK.MINI and they said that as of today my car has completed assembly and is going through the final quality check before it rolls off the production floor and gets to a ship!!-mike

 

Called ASK.MINI again (because I'm truly insane), and now the car is "released to carrier"! Although the OL doesn't show it as "Awaiting Transportation" quite yet. Woohoo!

Asked the guy if he could estimate the car leaving on a boat and he mentioned that it usually takes 2-3 days to get the car to the port and on a ship. Probably longer if there isn't a boat there yet though :-)

Wow! Looks like things are really moving. 2005LY, do you think this looks like a September delivery in Minneapolis for Katie and The Car?

When calling Ask Mini the automated system is not able to repeat the last 7 charcters of my VIN. Is this common?

 

That would be great if they could ride over together! It wouldn't be such a long trip then. :smile:

Since mlebeau has gotten me hooked the this status check thing, I called this morning and the car is finished with production and is awaiting transport to port!

Okay, I called ASK MINI today and was told that my MC was scheduled for production but that it was probably already in production as the last update was 7/26 and that the system had not "finished updating." Does that make sense?

 

:D My MCS is one of 86 shiny MINIs with a ticket on the Jingu Maru for departure on Thursday (8/5) !!! Built on Monday, floatin' on Thursday YEAH BA-BY!!!!!!!
