Thank you Del and HB005MCS.... however, Sportty and I are going to CA and BMW is no longer using WW to get Minis there!! As you will notice in the threads - all of us bound for CA have no idea where our Minis are as soon as they leave Southampton. We have all been trying to contact K-Line and NYK; as yet, no-one has had any luck getting any info.

I thought that Sportty knew he was on the Patriot...... but looks like he's not sure.

Latest I heard is that askmini might be able to tell you the vessel once you are actually loaded. Some MA's are telling people, because, according to askmini, your MA would know... however, the dealer I bought from N. Scottsdale is taking the position that they don't know.....
So much for tracking your Mini!!!

 

Just checked the OL and my MINI is awaiting transport. For some reason the OL seems to be not far behind. It took only 2 days to change to scheduled for production from what the live person told me at ASK MINI. And last night it changed to "Awaiting Transport" The same time the automated system did. These systems can't be too far behind because this change happend about 3 hours after I talked to a rep who told me it was still released from the factory waiting to be transported. As a side note, Is there anyone with a complete car or a car on the ship have their factory options show up on the OL? Mine aren't??

Does no one else have a name for their MINI yet (besides you, Del)?

 

Mine has been named "Rex". Reason: it sounded good and when it got the VIN it had the word Rex in it.

 

Mine is "Pete". Long story unless you know something about Big Ten Universities. I graduated from Purdue. School colors are Old Gold and Black. Mini Cooper is Solid Gold & Black. Sports Teams are known as the "Boilermakers". The offical mascot is the Boilermaker Special (Train), but there is also the human type mascot named "Purdue Pete"......alas, my car is named "Pete"! Football season is only 3 weeks away! Boiler up!

 

The long journey across the sea has finally ended for my MINI!!! The Jingu Maru has finally landed in NY (actually NJ) so all of us onboard should be exiting shortly! I can not wait for my car to be delivered, this car is going to cost me a huge chunk of change after my dismal trade in (2002 VW passat 4motion huge disapointment with massive loss of value) but I think it will be worth it in the end!! My expected delivery date is the 20th but I will be on vacation in sunny Hawaii until the 25th so I am going to have to wait a bit longer. The wait should be a little less stressful that the cars are back on land where they belong! Hopefully we will get the new cupholders:smile: . Anyone in Honolulu have any suggestions... will be there from the 18th to the 25th at the Hilton Hawaiian village, supporting the hilton sisters trust fund! Production Completed! According to AskMini I'm "awaiting release to carrier." So, does that mean I'm at "155 Production Completed" or "160 Released to Distribution" as I am waiting on "182 Released to Carrier"

 

Just called the automated ASKMINI and was told the estimated completion date of my MCS is the 20th - Friday. If it takes about ten days to build a Mini then production must have started earlier than anticipated since they said it would start production tomorrow

Sorry to hear about the depreciation on the VW. You can be encouraged on the MINI, however. I traded my 03 high spec Cooper with 12k miles on it and got $17,250 trade in (from $20,250 initial price over 1 year ago). I think that's pretty good value retention. I'll have to wait a few extra days for delivery so they can do the aero kit and other stuff. I may see it this week, but I should have it next week!!

From what I can tell on the OceanWeather site, it looks like the PATRIOT is north of some of the bad weather.

 

Okay, so looking at this map and Hurricane Danielle's suggested route... looks like it could be some rough seas ahead. Keep in mind I'm not a weather person

Is it a bad thing that the PATRIOT doesn't show up on the Port of Charleston page? I see the ISOLDE and a few other WW ships that will be docking soon...

How did you get your VIN? You have the same production date as I do! Do you know which port you are coming into?

Just a note, The Car is on the Patriot in the North Atlantic, Completed production on the 7th, Well, last night I checked on an insurance quote from Progressive.com and on a prompt I entered in my VIN. Boom, up pops the specifics of The Car! Does BMW have the VINS list out on contract?

 

Good to know since I'm probably going to see our insurance agent later this week to work on getting things switched over. That'll be nice if he can pull up all of the information already for a more complete estimate.

Everyone wish me luck - I'm having someone come out and look at my (old) car tonight. That would be awesome if it would sell before Katie comes in --> more down payment money! :smile:

I am new to NAM tonight. I hope I am in the right thread. Ordered my 05 mcs CR/W on 7/26/04 in Stamford , Conn. On 8/7/04 my car was listed as 112-Sceheduled for daily production pack. What does this really mean? Do I have a production week assigned yet? Please advise. Will my car be made in August or September? MA at deposit time told me my car would be arriving end of September. Thoughts/comments most appreciated. Thankyou!
