i'm so happy the wait is over! everything everyone has said about how fun the car is to drive is totally true! the delivery was flawless, it was more like hanging out with a new friend and just talking, great time! when you get yours, you'll feel like a kid in a candy shop. man, every time i get in my car, i feel that way. did yours go into production yesterday?

Actually my MINI went into production on Nov. 1st. Its on the Don Juan which should be docking in NY today. I'm glad that your MINI is everything you wished it would be. I surely cannot wait! Today should be a beautiful day, cold but beautiful. GO MOTORING!!! and Have fun!!

Thanks for the welcome Goofygrape. I've been hanging out for awhile in this club and can't wait till next week when a beautiful!! Silk Green Cooper will become mine-all-mine. We may be the last or next-to-last of those lucky enough to get this rare color. I've only seen one SG in person - a quick drive-by as my head turned to catch a glimpse of an SG with a white top. I still haven't seen one with a black top. Don'tcha love the way the chrome looks against the SG? I am getting clear tail lamps and clear/chrome side markers installed too. Should be sweet!!

P.S. Winnie Cooper is a GREAT name for her.....very funny.....are you getting vanity plates?

 

I was starting to think I would have to be bumped to the January club but I found out I am on the Jingu Maru!! WW site is just screwed up!! I may still have before Christmas!! Fingers crossed!!

 

As of yesterday 12/4/02, 11:20 am CST......I'm outta here!!!!!!! Bill Jacobs delivery went very well. Best I have encountered in the 15 or so cars I have purchased/leased to date. Sorry I didn't let you guys know yesterday, but I was busy....DRIVING!

Nigel is at the VDC! WooHoo! I suspect this last week or so til delivery will be the worst.
I do, however, have plenty of nice accessories waiting for his arrival. (minimadness stripes, moss skid plate, aero grille kit)

Just back from picking up her LBC at the dealer's an hour from here.

The break in period will be tough. The power really starts to come on at 3,500 rpm, you feel the push in your back ... and then you have to get off the gas.

The car just bends into curves. I can see why folks are worried about speeding tickets. Around one bend in the road without slowing, a bit of acceleration onto the straight, track right around the next curve, a bit of gas coming out of the ess ... and blue lights start flashing.

Too bad, it's started to snow and I've parked it.

He's at the dealer, getting all prettied up for me...darn that hubby of mine, he wants to go along on the pickup and has the nerve to be working tomorrow, so Sunday it is. Guess I shouldn't complain, since he's earning the moola that will help pay for my little automotive obsession.

Hey Jason (flkmkr) you should be hearing from your dealer too, yes? I mean, it only takes a day to drive from SoCal to AZ...

Ours arrived at the dealer, about the same distance from N.Y. as it is to Md., on the day shown in the owner's lounge.
It was ready to be picked up two days later, which is what I did yesterday, and getting to know it and driving the first 100 miles have been teriffic.

I've been lurking for months but for people wondering who were on the Trinidad and dropped off on the West Coast(11/29). I just talked to Mini of Murray in Utah and my MCS arrived there today. So if you're dealer hasn't recieved you're car you should be really close.

I got my hot pocket and glovebox organizer in the mail today.... but no MINI yet!

 

my car made it to vdc today from enroute. my dealer said about seven more days so i got my money in my pocket and that way i wont be held up by any outside forces. looking forward to my drive down hwy 1 from carmel to hearst castle on some of the most twisty road in the us. that should keep the speed down and the handeling up. that way i can learn about the way she wants to run. brg mcs checkerboard roof
