So a couple months back my factory dipstick was starting to break so i ordered a new one and was able to swap it out before it broke. Two weeks later the new one broke inside the tube, ughh...son of a. So now its going to the dealer next Friday and getting the oil pan dropped. Since it leaks anyway i guess its a good thing. So now it will be getting a new oil pan gasket, crank position sensor, dip stick tube o-ring and a Cravenspeed dipstick. After that the new clutch will finally be going in.

Cleaned up my exhaust tips a bit, then snagged a couple shots of my newly acquired Alta intercooler diverter.

Swapped out my Megan intake for an Alta, I've wanted an Alta for awhile but I kinda liked my Megan better. The Alta makes too many air noises imo. My venair hose didn't fit worth squat over the Alta. Gonna need a bigger silicone hose for it to fit properly. Megan was so much easier to install and is up for sale.

Sorry to hear about the ALTA troubles but it does look smashing.
I was considering purchasing this unit when I started liking at minis but since I ended up with a JCW it seemed pointless. Now that I'm looking at another R53 non JCW I have a couple questions.
Other than the noise factor and install any other concerns with the unit?
Do you know if the stock hose had the same issues?
Is there any real advantage to this particular unit that made you want it so much?

Jcw is a great intake from what I've heard, I wanted the Alta because I like supercharger whine and I knew it was the loudest. Not much louder than my Megan setup tbh, but it does look nice. I believe the stock tube fits it but I could be wrong.

I like my JCW intake on my JCW because I didn't have to pay for it separately I just got the whole package. The New R53 can benefit greatly from one of these lesser expensive units and I have no intention of buying another JCW intake haha.
Looks like I'll give the alta a shot. Since I don't like using silicone intake tubing I'm hoping that this install might be a bit easier. I guess since Alta and Madness are down the street from me I'll go in and have a look see.

Bought a cravenspeed dipstick, wow it's a lot more flexible than I expected. It has no stiffness whatsoever, it's just a floppy spring. I guess as long as it works.

Fabulous to hear and glad to be able to help with your progress. If you need anything don't hesitate to contact me. Next time, for the tips if you want to try something else out, I use this stuff called Never Dull. It really makes the tips shine like crazy! The material is basically like a giant cotton ball. You break it off into pieces and scrub the tip all around with it and I then take a paper towel to wipe the residue off.

Paired my Alta intake with silicone hose, the venair wouldn't even fit on the Alta intake without twisting the hose.
