Too bad Phase Linear isn't decent. Pretty low quality stuff. Not to mention that car still has the factory tape deck. I like my system better.

I wasn't aware that Phase Linear wasn't good. I leave all the audio stuff for my dad to worry about. I don't know the first thing when it comes to installing a system but I do know your install looks great. I plan to put a sub in my S when it arrives.
Any one got any suggestions for a sub/amp combo???

what kind of special adhesive did he use to keep all the windows in place? Or, perhaps some kind of special coating to keep them from cracking????

Being the retarded idiot that I am, I'm actually considering redoing the whole setup. If I don't do a major project every other month or so I start to go insane. Someday in the future I'd be very willing to bet I'll have this up for sale. Who knows, the SO may rope me into house projects.

Thanks for the compliment though!

Everyone,

I can't reveal details now but there is a sub coming very soon that is specifically for the MINI (COOPER and COOPER S) and I think it will be well worth the wait. I'll, hopefully, be basing an MINI audio project on this sub. Stay tuned for more info

Ok, well if Mark won't spill the beans, I will!

Could it be this? The new JL Audio Stealth sub enclosure Davertrees is working on?

originally posted by Davertrees
Woofer fires toward side of the vehicle, with the output aperature at the rear edge closest to the tail light.
This allows for some "loading" of the speaker and protects it from objects in the truck area. We've had a lot of good luck with this type of loading on other Stealthbox designs. If the woofer were down-firing, items put into the trunk area could restrict the output of the woofer. If the woofer were firing forward, it would require some kind of gap, or aperature, and that might look strange. In the configuration I've chosen, the woofer output does benefit from loading off the rear hatch since the aperature is right at the hatch opening area in the corner of the trunk.

I'm a fan of monster stereo systems... but this one is of low quality equipment and is just simply tacky!!

It is NOT a realistic sound system at all.

Just looking at that gives me a headache......I think it just MAY be a bit too much....I don't see why there would be any real need for a stereo that takes up like 3/4 of your car.

This makes me wonder....

Has anyone ever bought a GREAT sound system only to go out and build a car around it?

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....
But it is amazing to look at!!!!

Cheers,

No...this isn't what I was referring to. You'll have to wait a bit until I can provide more info

OBTW, Davbret, good job with the speaker mount... As you can tell, i'm not a big fan of mondo speaker mounts, but that looks pretty cool... you should do a MINI logo on the pexi over your amp...
