I know this is way out there, but with the new changes announced for January 2005 (especially the LSD), I have pushed my order out till January 2005 at Classic Mini. Is anyone else waiting for 2005?

Yes, I am in the (approx.) Jan. 2005 build date club. I ordered on 4/4/2004 from East Bay Mini, Pleasanton. When I saw the memo on the LSD, I emailed the dealer and specified that option. It was estimated to be around then anyway.

Long wait but it should be worth it. I'm getting EB/White, similar colors to the 1961 Cooper 997 I used to own.

Looks like I'm a member of this club too...
I've decided to sell/trade my Cooper and get an S, and the minute I saw Hyper Blue I knew it was the color... tho I thought it would be available immediately
So now I guess I'm getting a LSD and an armrest too

Yes I am very interested in the HyperBlue as well. The problem is that I cannot get a good feel for the color. I have seen the various shots on Motoringfile and Mini2, but all of the shots look slightly different. The color appears to be anywhere from a deep rich medium blue to a gunmetal greyish/blue color. I guess I will have to wait to see more pictures or see it in real life.

Yes, I am waiting for 2005. At first not by choice, but due to a backlog of orders at my dealer.
Now, after reading about the '05 changes, I'm willing to do the wait. It's difficult but I'm excited about the improvements and the look of the new xenons. While I was sorry to see Indy Blue go I like the way the new Hyper Blue looks, at least on my screen.

I'm looking to take delivery of the first 2005 MY available (in Sept.) at my dealership. The LSD is not important enough for me to postpone for an extra 4 months.

Got my production number today in email for a purple haze 2005 MCS...

I am not to overly concerned about the LSD....I am going to go on the assumption that at some point I should be able to install it if I want it.

YAY!! My car has a production number! Now, if only they will get to work on it!

Also, my dealer sent an email to me saying that when she submitted the order, it rejected the rear fog lamps and 3 spoke MFSW...anyone have some insight on this?

Who did you order from? My dealer said their first production slot for the 2005 wouldn't be until July.

gravdgr,

I ordered from Baron MINI in Kansas City. I do not know if this would have any bearing on the production slot, but I placed my order for a 2004 MCS back in April, hoping to make the cut off. I didn't, so I guess they just bumped it to an '05 model. Either way, I'm not picky. I get my car.
