Changing spark plug wires on 2006 Mini Cooper S

How easy/difficult is it to replace the stock spark plug wires with a new set?

I mean, do I simply pull the wires straight out? And then installing the new wires... can I simply push them down onto the plugs with my hand, or is a special tool required for removal/installation?

This is probably laughably easy, but I just like to be sure before I do it... Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

No tools...
About a 5 minute job...
Hardest part is opening the hood...
Just do one wire at a time....

Not that hard at all.

For the coil , they can be on there a little tight, grab the 90 degree angle of the boot closest to the coil and pull horizontally. Sometimes twisting a little before pulling helps them com off if there is a little corrosion on the terminal. The spark plug boot you grab the top and pull up. They will clip off. You can grab them pretty good right above the rubber skirt and top rubber nub.

If you are missing the factory clips for the rear wires to keep them seprtated #3 #4 plug on the back . Here they are.

Ive done it on my Jeep and its very simple, you basically just unplug em and plug in the new ones.

Heres a pdf instruction manual I found this morning looking at new wires for my mini

You will feel the click when you put the new ones on. I use some dielectric grease on the tops of the plugs.

Pay particular attention to the coil pack terminal for plug # 3. If it looks the least bit corroded you may have to replace it.

Unless you have a GP intercooler, it will be a piece of cake. Pull the wires out, remove old plugs, install new ones, push wires until it click, sacrifice a chicken for the Mini God and you're done.
