R50/53 Has anyone ordered from V-MAXX before?
Has anyone ordered from V-MAXX before?
I'm about to finalize an order from V-Maxx over e-mail and he just sent me a PayPal invoice.
Everything seems legit but I do have that one negative gut feeling about ordering online ..
It's also a little strange that they have 2 websites and have different post addresses?

If anyone has ordered from them and doesn't mind helping this n00b out, that's much appreciated!

They are legit, but save your money and get better coilovers.
You can get them from an American vendor...

Honestly, the price is just too inviting
Here in Canada (if I don't buy online) the cheapest Megan EZ Street coilovers go for $840CAD, which is a great deal more than what I've seen online

Just remember, you get what you pay for.
Teknotik and 240SX
Give them a shout, 240SX quoted me 840CAD while Teknotik, 849CAD

Last year I was looking at the lowest priced Megan's, I could only get them for 950 plus taxes.
I was interested in them, and then one guy told me they were utter junk, especially for roads in the GTA. And then I ran into another Mini owner that bought them, and in less than a year, one of the rears just broke and he had to buy a new shock for about $300.
So I didn't get them. still debating, but really turned off. I'd say research them thoroughly before you start scraping the bottom of the barrel. Coil overs are a day's work if you install them yourself. or $4-500 if you take it to a shop. and if one of them fails your car is out of commission and a still a few hundred to fix. Where as cheap tires you can drive carefully, and replace in 2 hours.
Plus suspension is what determines your ride quality, handling, and some fuel economy. You're going to get a rough ride, but you'll look cool doing it at 2" lower.

Cause I've seen people recommend Megan's over Vmaxx, I actually have seen a lot of bad reviews on Vmaxx's especially on this forum.
These are basically my only 2 options, my buddy uses Megan's and it's going great for him. But I get what you mean, hmmm ....
Yea I saw all the great Megan reviews too.
The first guy I spoke to, he has an R53 that he races, he bought megan's, hated them, upgraded the springs which cost another $1,200 and they were still crap. I ignored his review, cus what's crap on the track is beyond good enough for street.
Then I met the guy that blew a Megan and had to pay $300 for one shock when 4 of them cost $900. He said they were ok other than that, but the ride quality was worse than stock.
I understand trying to save a few bucks, I'm currently considering buying cheap no name brakes just to give them a shot. Cars and parts cost considerably more in Canada than they do for you USA drivers. Actually everything costs more for us, except things like surgery, and X-rays and such.
Anyway, for the cost of cheap coilovers, you can get good koni shocks, and some lowering springs. Unless you need the adjustable ride height, do you?
