no idle, misfire

2005 mini cooper s, 15% and +2 balancer.
Mini cooper s drove in a rain storm from Atlanta to knoxville with no problems, in knoxville hit a large bump on the interstate immediately felt a vibration, all lights came on including the door open light. pulled over let off gas the mini died.
To start the car you have to give it gas and it will only run when throttle is depressed, let off it dies. codes were for a #4 misfire and O2 sensor.
Replaced the coil pack with extra, #4 and #3 were heavily corroded, replaced the wires, no help. Pulled the #4 spark plug, is wet with what smells like gas, replaced with stock plug, no change in running. check engine light flashes briefly, the traction control light comes on then the engine light stays on.
at a loss on what to look at next, the inability to even idle roughly on its own has me thinking its fuel related or vacuum, internet searches have not found anything that fits my issues fully.
any help will be appreciated

Could you have damaged something underneath, crushed a pipe or similsr? I'd be getting it on a hoist for a real slow, good look round. Good to find the dirty terminals though, look for more.

upon further inspection today, the metal piece in the belt tensioner has broken off and the pully now rest against the balancer, don't know if this is the problem or a effect of the misfire which is violent. anyone with a similar story let me know.

took the tensioner and belt off, the tensioner is now in 2 pieces, tried to start it without belt to see if it would idle, no luck, still the same feeling.

Compression test revels no compression in #4, all other cylinders at 125. Here's hoping its just a valve spring and not a bent valve or cam issue

I've broken 2 valve springs in my 06 s. sounded like a john deere tractor while running. I've also sent cyl 2 piston through the block on an 02 s.. and the 02 actually sounded better running before AND after it happened...

valve springs in 2006 seem to be a bit more unstable. hoping for the best for you.

Did you repair yourself? Haven't looked at the internals of a mini head, my 6.7 stroker jeep has dropped a spring before, to much rpm and to much nitrous. It was as simple as removing the valve cover and blowing the lifter up with air. Anybody have experience with the mini head?

Intake valve #4 spring was broke but still together on the valve stem, replaced and replaced tensioner, all's well with the mini again. Thanks for the sparse replies.

Giving a thread 2 days during the winter when many folks check in weekly....
At least the reply did point you in the right direction....heck 75% of owners generally call for a tow if it involves the valvetrain! Good to hear it is back aok!

Am thankful for those that did reply, guess I'm use to my speed freaks forum. We tear down, break then modify everything. Dealerships are no help to us but parts.

By the way the process is as simple as a old push rod plus mini is nice enough to use a reusable valve gasket.
