Adding speedo to column

Ok, so the chrono/navi retrofit has pretty much been beaten into submission, and I actually like the center speedo.

What I'm looking to do is just add a speedo to my column, as if it had chrono/navi. I can mod the bcm for this, so that's not a big deal. But will I have issues like they do with the chrono/navi packs?

TIA!

Are you doing it for coolness factor or actually using it for reference. Scanguage can tell you what speed you are running. I have the navi pack and wish i have the single tach gauge on the column so i can add side gauges like oil temp and pressure.

Issues? Someone else can chime in on that.

Check out the Australia model MINIs :

I remember they had to have the speedo on the steering column by Aus DOT requirement.

Very cool.

I have the Brockway Engineering D-Gauge situated to the left of the steering wheel AND the Chrono package with the speedometer over the steering column. When looking for quick and accurate checks for speed, I find myself looking at the D-Gauge with the digital speed readout in bright colors (!) Easy to see at a glance...
