R50/53 Goodbye Bridger.us :-(
...and Hello motoringfile.com
I just realized that the website name changed. I kind of liked the old name.
(I consider that site as the Wall Street Journel for MINI information.)
Anyway, motor on , Gabe.

Yeah, I'm bummed about the name change but I'm sure Gabe had his reasons. The site has been and (I'm sure) will continue to be one of the great sources of Mini information. If you're not familiar with it check it out THE WEBSITE FORMERLY KNOWN AS BRIDGER.US
Thanks Gabe for all of your efforts.

Sounds like he just wanted a more MINI-specific site name. It could definitely be argued that Bridger is more MINI-specific than motoringfile
, but it's his website, and like NAM, we'll all continue to love it, whatever it's called!

I love your site Gabe and in the beginning of my searching for info on the MINI, I thought the Bridger in your site name was from the Italian Job until I saw your last name.
In any event I will make the transition and look forward to your neat pictures and articles.
Keep up the excellent work.
Mahalo.

Thanks guys. I guess more than anything Bridger.us/MINI just didn't exude the kind of professionalism that I wanted it to. That and I wanted to distance my lastname from the site just a bit more.
Also I'd like to continue to make MotoringFile a collaborative effort so if anyone has any reviews, articles, or tips they'd like to share as always use the contribute button at the top of the site.
Cheers,
Gabe

Gabe,
To me, the fact that it was "non-professional" was what gave it a unique appeal. The site had the feel of "insider information" extracted from an individual who had contacts no one else had. I think the fact that it is starting to have a professional "corporate" feel with advertisers takes away from that edgey feel. the site may be expensive and may be the reason you are going this route. But in my opinion it looses something. I will personally miss the times it was bridger.us/mini.
And then again, I will be interested in how it turns out. All I can say is don't sell out to the MAN.

Believe me I loath sell-outs as much as the next guy  I've got some enormous bandwidth to pay for these days thus I had to add some further advetisments down the right side towards the bottom. But I'm really trying to maintain a certain look and feel with all the ads so as to not visually polute the site.
I love hearing this feedback though. If anyone has any other thoughts on how to improve MortoringFile feel free to pm me or post them here.
Thanks
Gabe
