Car not starting... Totally dead.

This morning as i was walking out of my house i unlocked the doors with my key, all seemed fine. As i opened the door my nav screen lit up with the mini logo as it normally does. But all of a sudden all my lights, my screen, the dash all went blank..... I tried starting the car and nothing....
It didnt even turn over, its like the car was totally dead.
I was on my way to work and in a rush so i couldn't really look into it much. I waited a bit and tried to start the car again....Nothing, I tried unlocking/locking with the key and the **** in the car.....Nothing.
Nothing was responding....
I recently had some work done and i know the battery had to be taken out, I'm hoping maybe something disconnected there and is causing the problems?

Has this happened to anyone?

Going from seemingly-normal to completely dead certainly sounds like something has popped loose and disconnected the battery. And since the battery has been removed recently, that would be the place to start. Let us know what you find out!

definitely sounds like a battery connection the way it all suddenly died. Jump it!

Gotta wait til i get home tonight, but that was pretty weird.
Hopefully it is just the battery terminal that is loose.

The only two things I can think of are either a loose battery terminal (this would be good), or a blown master fusible link right next to the battery (this would be bad).

Ok guys good news!
It was just the terminals on the battery.
I guess the mechanic forgot to tighten them.

How the heck does a mechanic forget to tighten the battery connections? Seems to me he'd have the wrench in his hand when he put them on.
