R50/53 Sunroof Drain
I've been studying the posts and it may be time for a whole category of posts on roof leaks. I was washing my '02 R53 - yep, with the sunroof - and noticed water cascading down the rear passenger side seatbelt from the opening in the headliner. I've isolated the leak to the right rear corner of the rear moonroof. How do you get to the drain back there? Talking to the service department at the dealership they mentioned something like 6 hrs and I choked. Fortunately, I live in a desert but I haven't found a showercap for my Mini when I give it a bath!
Anybody dealt with the right rear drain?

My MINI has seen monoon rain this summer (which has been pretty good), and there haven't been any leaks in the sunroof. Not to my knowledge did the previous owner have any problems either.

Has anyone noticed a leak even with the drain hoses in place?
The catch is I was parked on a hill, front of car about a foot higher than rear of car.
I have an 02 r53, had a droopy headliner so I started tearing it down and noticed a LOT of stains on the cardboard structure (or whatever the material is)
I bought a new material a month ago but am hesitant to install for risk of staining the new liner.
I wanted to run for a while without the liner so I could see what was going on and while washing the car one day, water was dripping down from the very rear of the back sunroof assembly in the center.
The drains are in tact and also had water draining out under the rear hatch ( normal function)

I'm thinking maybe the incline of the car flooded so much water to the rear of the sunroof trough that the drains couldn't handle the flow ??? I hope that's all it is but it kinda sucks cuz my driveway is pretty steep lol.
I'm guessing you had a lot of rain for it to overwhelm the rain - I want to get mine fixed before we start having snowfall. At least with snow, you have a chance to brush it off the roof before it melts and overwhelms the drain.
