today I called the dealer to find out how's my baby doing but they told me that it wont be delivered at the end of this month (as it was promised) and instead it'll be delivered a month late and I am furious
I was counting days untill january and I though I'd be getting my car at the end of this month little I knew....
anyways, anybody else has this problem? or anybody knows why there's a delay in mini production?

thanx

has your car unloaded off the boat yet ???,, if it is in the vehicle processing center for more than a week there is a good chance that it got damaged in shipment and they are repairing it, this usualy adds about a month to the delivery of it

I doubt very many vehicles are damaged in shipment as all they do is drive them on, strap them down, and drive them off. They probably got hung up on a part not being available or something on the assembly line braking.

Looking back on my overall MINI experience, I don't think my nerves were more frayed than they were in the weeks/days just prior to my MINIs delivery. If I had been told, "Hey it'll be another month!" it just would have sent me over the top. This sucks! I WILL say that once you're finally out motoring all this crazy stuff just seems like a bad dream. I hope they surprise you and the wait isn't as long as your being told. Pour on the drama....I think they'll feel your pain!!!

i too doubt that very many are damaged in shipment, alltho mine was , this is how i know about the month delay after the car got here,, with two ships a week comeing in with several hundered cars to process there has got to be some problems pop up,,,the salesman assured me that it would be as good as new and that it was just a scratch , they needed to repaint the rear corner panel, it's that i didn't get to see the scratch so had no way of knowing how bad it was,, once the damage goes down to the bare metal there is no way to get back the electro plateing and the e-koate corrison protection that is put on at the factory,,,they didn't seem to happy that i didn't want a new car that had been repaired, so i got to thinking if they didn't want the car then why should i, it's not like they had a lot full of mini's that they couldn't sell, anyway they finaly ordered me another one , so am now waiting on it

did your dealer give you a production number yet? if so go to the owner's circle on miniusa.com. you can also call 1.866.ask.mini to get info on your car's status.

if you didn't get a production number, call them and ask for it. if they don't have it, it sounds alot like they are bumping your car to their next months order.

umm i dont have a production number yet and since in the canadian website there's no such a thing as owner's lounge I have to do all the inquieries through my MA.
I was wondering can they do this to me? I mean can they say the car is gonna be here late jan but actually the deliver it lat feb?
We're not talking about a week late, it's month late....that's a lot
dont they have to do what they've promised?
my point is can I hold them responsible for not doing what was promised?

thanx

It's possible your dealer didn't get enough cars in this months allocation so yours got bumped to next month. They were probably anticipating a certain number of cars for the month based on previous months' allocations. Nothing you can do really since it's out of your dealers hands. Only thing you can really ask your dealer for at this time is an estimated date of production.

i don't think you can hold them to a date unless you have something in writing. there are variables in the shipping process that are out of their control, but those should be days or weeks late, not a month (AFAIK).

i think you're stuck with waiting, finding another dealer, or yelling at the one you've got.

A hile back there was a boat that sunk with all Minis aboard if i am not mistaken. I hope whatever powers there are focus their will to holding your patience, or speeding your Mini to you.

Actually, there were no Minis on the boat that sank. It was enroute to pick up some, but sank BEFORE it got to Minis dock. There were a bunch of Volvos that were lost. And I was told that Volvo paid for the recovery of the cars from off the sunk boat. They didn't want someone else to go get them I think.
