Just wondering since this happened to my wife with her new Toyota Prius (also a special order vehicle, $1,000 down, but for the more practical LOL). While waiting for hers to arrive in about a month, we got a call from the dealer today. Same car, same equipment, different color but ours if we want it. We said yes and take delivery next week.

I think if my Mini delear offered me immediate delivery on a comparably equipped car (mine is still in production), I'd do the same. Has this happened to you? Does it happen often? I wonder if I should call my dealer and inquire. Mine is scheduled to arrive in about 4-6 weeks.

can't hurt to ask. if you're looking for typical options you may find one on a lot. right now Classic Mini has exactly the car we want, but it has leather and we're looking for leatherette. close, but not quite.

earley-apex: I know that leather hits you for abour $1300.00. I didn't want it either but, my wife said "I want leather" nuf-said. Now I really like the leather as the seats are more comfortable with the lumber adjustment that is only available with leather. I KNOW... still $1300... but they do breathe which is nice on those summer days, even with the air on. Thats my story & I'm sticking too it!!!!

While I was waiting to order mine, Roadshow in Memphis called me when they had a customer back out of a MINI that was exactly as I wanted mine except it was missing the cold weather package. I jumped at the chance to have my MINI months early despite the lack of bun warmers.

After waiting 4 months for my PW/B MCS, Owners Lounge finally said "at the dealer". Called Mini of the Main Line MA and told "no sign of delivery". After 2 weeks of this, my MA tells me that due to a computer error they sold my car to another customer 1 1/2 weeks earlier. Mini of the Main Line sales manager says "be glad to order another just need to be patient for another 3 months". After my dinasour brain engaged the reptilian response, I was able to purchase a IB/W MCS that just arrived at the dealer w/ leather package, HK upgrade, Metalic paint & rain sensing wipers for the same price as my original w/o these options (this required legal action threats). The MC deal of a lifetime, $2700 of options for free. Still not PW/B but I can live with it.
