Did your MINI come with a spare? I see that the MINI.CA has it listed as an option, but I'd heard some Americans, even though they were told their car would come without a spare, were pleased to find one attached after all. I ask because my MINI is being ordered very soon, and I'm getting the Sports Package as well. Should I just keep my fingers crossed, or should I order the spare?

Initially we were told that anycar with run-flats would NOT have spares. However, the factory had a change of heart. The only car without a spare is the "S" This is for the same reason the "M" series BMW models don't have them. The exhaust system runs right down the middle and doesn't allow for the "tire bay" to exist

No, my MINI did not come with a spare. Run flats are fine with me.

Thanks folks, The runflats are fine with me too but I just was thinking way down the road as far as resale goes. In all my years of driving I have never had to change a flat.(knock wood) I've always managed to notice a low tire before it became a problem. I'm still at a draw though, 50/50 on the poll. Any more Canadians out there listening? Pony up and let me know.

I take delivery of my Cooper next weekend, and I just have the 15" wheels, but my dealer said the spare was an option, I'll let you know if a spare ends up there. I figure with the TPW system I'll be able to make it to a garage or home in time. Plus I can't remember the last time I had a flat (knock wood as well).

The reason the S doesn't come with one is the battery is relocated back where the spare would have been. They had to make room for the supercharger.

No spare on my MCS for obvious reasons. Bumped into a few other new Cooper owners out there that have non-runflat tires, and they have spares. Call your dealer maybe? They might know more about the whole deal. Where you from? I'm in the beautiful Okanagan, just outside of Kelowna, BC. Nice to hear of some more Canucks out there that drive MINI's.
Cheers to my fellow CDN's,
