R50/53 Did I get a pretty good deal?
#5
Nice pic of a beautiful car. Yes, that's a good deal, but with 37K on the clock, I'm suspecting the owner got rid of it when the warranty ran out.
I bought my 2006 MCS from the dealer with 25K miles. I've already taken it to a couple of dealerships for, literally, thousands of dollars of service, all covered under the new car warranty. These are certainly fun, entertaining cars, but I can honestly say I've never had a car with this few miles with this many issues.
Don't blow all the money you saved, you might need to fix a leak, motor-mount, or flywheel in the near future. This forum is a great resource for finding out info to help!

That should be a great car and you got it for a very good price. Keep your maintenance up and it should last many years and smiles. There are R53 MINIs out there near the 200K mile mark on the original engines and S/Cs. Ignore the dashboard OBD oil service light and change your synthetic oil/filter at least every 10K miles. MINI would have you change the oil every 18-20K miles, but most of us know better. It's also a good idea to top off your oil at least every 5K miles. Some MINIs will use a bit of oil (normal), and people who never check their oil can get a very costly surprise.
