up on the roof is the button. Press it up (like you are trying to press it through the roof) and it will open the vent. Slide it towards the rear to open it and do the opposite to close. It will auto-open but not auto close.

There is also a programable option to hold the unlock button to open all the windows and the sunroof.

If you use the key to lock the door you can hold it there and it will close all the windows and the sunroof.

(The unlock toggle on the dash also works.)

Hmmmm....my sunroof has the automatic open AND the automatic close feature.

As mentioned above, press the button to open the vent (which you can vary, depending on how long you hold the button), and move the other thingie back towards the boot, to open the sunroof. If you quickly double-touch it, it will automatically open...move it back toward the bonnet to close, and quickly double-touching that will activate the auto-close function.

My keyfob is programmed to open the windows and the sunroof when I press on the wing logo for 5 seconds or more. And when you exit your MINI, you can put the key in the lock, turn it to the right, and that will close the windows and the sunroof.

Hope that helps.

It definitely closes automatically--with one touch.

There's only one button and it couldn't be simpler--no hidden operations to worry about.

Mine doesn't close all the way with one touch, it slides all the way forward, but the back stays up in the "vent" position...

with engine running, one touch close closes the sunroof to the vent position.
without engine running (or ignition switch in position 1, can't remember), then no one touch close.

No idea why MINI designed it this way. I guess it is a design "feature"......

Bugs me that the sunroof stays in the vent postion and doesn't close all the way on the one-touch function. Keep thinking that I will accidently forget to close it and it will rain or something. Never had a sunroof in another car. Is this a normal thing that it only closes to the vent positon on one-touch?

Happened to me once too. I can't open or close my roof or windows with the key. I am hoping they just didn't program it the way I wanted and not a bigger problem. I know some don't like the sunroof but I am sure glad to have one - anything for more light this time of year.

Mine has 1-touch open, but when I close it it will just stay in the vent position which is reat because I never close the vent unless it's pouring (a rare occasion in So Cal), leaves the interior smelling fresh.
