Man, what is it with this car? Last week I picked up my car from the dealer after they had it for a week doing LOTS of warranty work. This morning I get to work and open the door, hear a little popping noise as I open it.I didn't think much of it.I go to shut the door, and CRUNCH the window munches the trim on the A pillar. And the door doesn't shut.I then realize the window didn't drop like it's supposed to.I carefully closed the door , then tried it again.Same thing.ARRRGGHHH.

Reset the windows by holding the toggle in the up position for about 10 seconds. They will then drop down when opening the door.

Yep, hold the up window for at least 10 secs. Problem solved.

Sweet, that did the trick! Thanks a million, I will now refrain from bitching about my now finally rattle free, non oil light coming on,non pulling to the left cooper S with 23k miles.

Big babies!! Go buy a Honda
(having made this smart-assed comment, my MINI will now proceed to fall apart)

Just curious, how come yours pulled to the left? Mine did for the longest time but I thought I was just thinking about it too much. The dealership rotated the tires and it's been fine ever since.

Funny, I had considered an rsx as my second choice. But i'm a toyota loyalist. If the celica wasn't now one of the ugliest cars out there, I would probably have one. That said, all cars have issues, mine just seems to have more than others.I should have known better, my last car was a first year production 92 325i.It had several issues also.My 02 cooper S was also a very early build 2/02 production car, so its one of the first ones off the boat.Checking the etk, lots of stuff changed (for the better) in 3/02. My car has now had several updates to the 3/02 parts and finally drives the way it should. And it finally doesn't rattle like mad.So my mini is now as fun to drive to work as it is on twisty backroads. My comment may have been a bit premature, but it got a quick reply and now my car's all set.Hopefully all will now be good, and I can drive this thing to 200k with minimal issues.

My car was a very early build 2/02 production with an entirely different front suspension.A few weeks ago the entire front suspension was replaced.Everything from the 3 nuts at the top of the shock tower to the 2 bolts holding on the control arm bushing bracket, and everything in between. Now it goes straight. Funny the original owner's dealer told them it was normal for the car to pull to the left instantly every time you let go of the wheel.
