R50/53 What's your take on the invisishield?
If you have no white stripes or roof - go for it. I got the deluxe kit, and since deer impact i've still got bits of it here and there. It shows up on white. Not much - but it could bother you. The edges catch dirt. But they warrantee for 7 years or something like that.
And stone chips suk. I could show you photos.

Timmons...i'm in Scottsdale....I've had my car since June 30th (bought in KS and drove it here)....along the way, I wish I'd gotten at least a bar for the drive home....I had driven through a swarm of locusts (pulled 80 of those suckers out from the front of the car AND engine!!) and was pounded with bugs but miraculously, the finish was immaculate when I made it back here.
Since there....upon very close, inspection, I've got a couple of nics....the windshield has seen more damaged though frankly...I'm on my third.
I got the xpel kit for the headlights only....$35 and all the lights are protected...well, worth it.
You could go with or without it frankly. It depends on how much and where you drive I think...if you're spending a lot of time on the 101, I'd say go for it....but otherwise, it may not be necessary.

I didn't buy the Invisishield that the dealership offers. They wanted far too much for it. Instead I bought a full kit (hood, bumper and some additional pieces not offered from MINI) from Auto Clear Guard. I installed it myself and am extemely happy with it. I also got the headlight protection kit. In my opinion if you do NOTHING else you should at least invest in the headlight kit. If it saves you from one broken fog lamp or turn signal it more than pays for itself. As far as the clear bra goes, it's really difficult to see it on my IB MCS unless you're really looking for it.
I agree with Robyn...had the clear bra put on last weekend and it is
very difficult to see. Bring on the gravel trucks

I've had mine for over a year and love it! No lifting or dirt at the edges on mine. Got the deluxe plus 3 extra pieces installed for $250 at their headquarters in NC.
They were offering a 20% discount to the roadfly members might be worth asking about.
I've got loads of pics if you need to see the process.

Here is a shot of my car right after they finished installing the shield. I have had many people look at my car (at shows and parking lots), walk around it asking the standard questions and even some good ones too
Then after 10 minutes have them stop, look at the fender and say, "oh man you got a scratch" then reach to point it out only to see that it is the edge of the shield. So yes I guess it is visible in that sense, however here in the hills of NC we have tons of sand and small stones all over our roads from rain washing out everyone’s driveways, so I am very happy with the trade off of having the shield and having someone look for 10 + minutes and finally see the shield. To really see what is happening to your hood just try and look through your windshield while traveling West into the setting sun. Now do it at 26,500+ miles like mine, BTW no chips in my hood.

Well, I guess I'll be the voice of dissent here. I don't like it. I don't like how you can see the line across the bonnet where it ends. The lines of the bonnet are the car's strongest point, I think, and the clear bra is very distracting aesthetically. Probably depends on what color car you have.
Plus, I've got 12,000 miles on my car, and I have four chips. If you don't tailgate, and actually allow the proper following distance, it's amazing how unscathed your car can be.
I don't know how many chips I'd have to have before I'd be willing to wave a magic wand and replace them with a clear bra, but it would be a lot.

Totally depends on where you drive, IMO. I commute in my MINI, 75 miles EACH way, and 60 of them are on the highway. I saw what that many highway miles did to the front of my previous car, and getting the clear bra was a no-brainer.
The nearly invisible line across the bonnet is much nicer looking than all the rock chips and sand-blasting on my old car.
If I didn't drive all those highwway miles? I'd probably skip the clear bra and put on a Colgan for the occasional long highway trip.
Different folks have different needs.
