Invisishield and bonnet stripes

Hi everyone, I have a dilemma. I am "just" about ready to go build my R56 but I'm having difficulties with all the choices/options out there. I KNOW what I want re: specs. My difficulties lie in "dressing" my car. I want a UJ themed vehicle...this much I know. I know I would like to protect it with invisishield as well since I've heard plenty from those who hadn't and wish they had.

My question is: If I go ahead and have the invisishield installed at delivery, can I then later go an have bonnet stripes placed over it? Or do the bonnet stripes need to be placed before the shield? Any suggestions, tips, design specs, or anything else you could throw my way would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you put the stripes on first you won't be able to change them without removing the clear bra

Isn't there an aftermarket product similar to invisishield that's a lot less? As I recall they wanted about $700 for it when I bought mine a couple weeks ago. That seems outrageous for something they basically spray on. Heck, they wanted $125 for something applied to the front windshield to cut down on glare from oncoming headlights.

700 bucks is a good deal and well worth it. On my 911, I didn't do it and now at 27k miles my midnight blue front bumper looks like it has acne. I did the hood and mirrors myself after the car was not tool old, so my hood and mirrors are ok, now I'm looking at 1000 bucks to refinish the bumper and I still have to do the clear bra. And since it's a refinish I will have to paint the bumper and wait 5-6 weeks for the paint to cure before they can do it, so for 5-6 weeks, I can't drive the car.

For my mini it will be a no brainer, it will not be driven on the road until it is protected by clear bra.

Is invisiShield a spray on?
I was told that if a clear bonnet was put on my car it would bubble over the bonnet stripes.
Now that I've had my car for a few months, I've seen what damage has occurred already and I really wish I could put a clear bonnet on it. Doubt that's possible anymore, though....

Invisishield/AutoPaintGuard/Expel are pretty much the same kind of product: clear, durable sheeting that is laid over the area to be protected.

No, it isn't a "spray-on" type product.

Installers recommend installing the bonnet stripes on top of the product, not underneath.

Bonnet stripes are very inexpensive; remove the ones you already have, get the protection in place and then reinstall the bonnet stripes.

Aesthetic Creations (a NAM vendor) offers the clear protection overlay for the bonnet stripes they sell...so you'd actually end up with protected bonnet stripes, too!

I'm getting sport stripes w/ invishield over them, as said above^, don't think it should be done the other way.

Good investment in paint protection, well worth the money (and it evidently comes off without damage, and since it's UV transparent, the paint doesn't fade differently)

BTW for comparison, estimate I got was "$599 for front bumper, bonnet, hood scoop and mirrors"

I just had my invisible shield installed by Vincent at Omega Tintwerks here in the bay area. I already applied my stripes weeks ago, so I just had the invisible shield put over the top of em.

I plan on having my stripes on my car for a good long time, and honestly the car looks naked without em. I've attached a few picts below. There's a hardly perceptible bubble line along the stripe that I'm supposed to have Vincent take out sometime this week. I guess when they install the cover it's hard to squeeze all the water out of the seam, so you have to let it dry for a spell before it can be fully worked out.

I had a full hood wrap done, so the entire hood, front bumper, lenses, mirror caps ect.
