Ive never had anyone say my mini was cute.
ive heard "looks like a fun car", or "is it fast?", "nice car", " I Love those cars", but never "cute car"

I guess if it's stock it looks 'cute" because of the soft lines and size, but once it's heavely modded I think it takes on a more "serious" look.

That's exactly what I did and oh, for the third time today my car was called cute, WTF !!!

 

I tell people my car is cute.

 

Actually, I'm coming to terms with this, Minis are cute.

 

Thanks, mula! I have it bookmarked for days when I need a pick-me-up. Granted, I didn't get the "Damn it, Scotty! We need more power!" allusion until I saw Star Trek a few weeks ago, but I still loved it.

 

I don't hear the cute term but I hear the "I love your car" line all the time. Having much younger teenage sisters with a kazillion friends doesn't help at all.

 

I always respond to "It's cute." with a "It's not cue, it's mean." At least that lightens it up a bit.

 

LOL ... well, I get the same things (cute, adorable, etc.), as well as, 'how do u like it?', 'is it fast?'. Most of the time I tell people who comment on Scoopie 2 test drive one...you'll love it!

 

My response to the last girl that called my Mini "cute" was "yeah, it's cute how it smokes its tires"

 

Frankly...and I have two 20-something daughters...I don't/can't grasp the whole concept of cute. My daughters say, "Oh, isn't that outfit is cute?" or "Oh, this bowl is cute", or "Wow, this hair clip is cute," or "Hey, isn't that sewer grate cute." Cute??? What is that?!?!?! How?? Where??? I do not get it!!! If I saw any object lying around there is a whole range of adjectives I could come up with to describe it..........but cute??? No concept. Diminuative?...yes. Cheery?....maybe. Anthrophmorphic?...I'll consider it. Oxyplonic? Possibly......except that's not a real word.

So, let the observers of cute (whoever they are) make their obscure pronouncements. Yes, the MINI has a face. Yes it is small. Yes it is colorful (sometimes). Does that equal cute??? Apparently....but I'll probably continue to mentally flatline and give it one of these () whenever and wherever the word is applied.
