Does this club exist? Or am I the only one waiting for January 2004?

I think you just started it - and welcome to the wonderful world of "Can't Wait For Clubs". You'll be glad you started this thing, and glad your're a member.

Trust us that have gone before you and graduated. It's all worth it - and the Club makes the waiting much more enjoyable (oh yeah, it's fun!). You'll make new friends, start tracking each others MINIs in the factory and on water, and generally whine together about not being able to wait any longer.

We know. We've been there. And now so are you.

But - it really is worth it.

Just wait...............

I hopefully will be ordering a MINI within the next week or so. That, supposedly, will put me at a mid to late January delivery. I can't wait!!!

Hi All,

First time posting.

I ordered a mini cooper a few weeks ago and was told to expect delivery late January.

Want to thank all you web site contributers for the great advice on specing my mini and providing performance expectations.

I live in Flagstaff and purchased my mini from Scottsdale, AZ (two stop lights, a stopsign and 132 miles from my front door). I plan on using my mini as a commuter. I'll put in about 450 miles a week of mostly open road driving, most of that within two days of the week. Sold a 94 Honda Accord with 184K of mostly trouble free miles to come up with the down payment.

I have grown up in the Intermountain West and have loved driving here since learning to drive between Tucson and East Glacier, MT in the summer of '69. I have no plans on making performance modifications and will not be racing. I am looking forward to the motoring experience of a Mini.

Come on January and an early Spring!

MC CR/W, Crome insert, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, Sports seat, fogs, MP3 port

Thanks again.

Howdy! Welcome, all January MINI parents!

Originally, I was taking my delivery in mid December, but there was a change of order. Instead of pure silver, I re-order a black w/ different options. I couldn't make up my mind. When I put in my 2nd order, my MA asked me, "are you sure now?" So now, I'll be waiting for my JB/B MCS for Jan delivery!

There's a song, that goes "I'm so excited. I just can't hide it................" It's ringing in my head!

I am in too. DS/B, most all the options including the JCW, which I'm looking forward too! I'm getting mine through MINI of the Hamptons and having it shipped to Phoenix. So that'll add a few days. My MA says mid Janaury to be on the safe side, so I'm assuming that the 'NY to AZ' shipping might add another week.

Now I need to find enough distractions to have this time fly by!

I ordered back in October, and a build in early December. So, if I get super lucky, late Dec. club... But I think I'll fall squarely in the Jan 2004 club!

Spec in signature, strangely. Tho I had a build date of Dec. 5th, now
I don't anymore. But the dealer says I'm still squarely in December
week 49 or 50???

Planned Mods- Alta Intake, Blitzsafe XM radio, PIAA premium H7 bulbs,
Clear corners. Perhaps- R90 wheels, Pulley, my old sub system
Kicker Solobaric 10", 300w RF amp.

It seems like the "January club" is relatively inactive compare to other monthly clubs.

I'm expecting my blk/blk/blk MCS delivery in mid January. Believe it or not, I've already purchased tons of items for it (see list).

Stereo & electronics: Autopark reverse sensor, Basslink subwoofer, 4-channel Alpine amp, MB Quart speakers, Dynamat, alarm, V-1 radar detector, 3.5" antenna

Lights: rally lights, rear fog light, Philip H7 & H11 white bulbs, Lamin-x smoked film protector for rear lights and side markers

Performance: cross-drilled/slotted rotors, B&M short shifter kit

Exterior: aero kit grilles, wide-angle side mirrors, wheel locks, license plate frame & cover, sun shade

Interior: floormats, leather armrest, crystal ball to hang on the mirror, coin holder, first aid kit, MINI keychain, trash bin, pen, tire gauge, tissue box cover, umbrella, flash light, jumper cable, phone mount

I've already spend close to $2000 and I don't even have the car yet.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!! My status has moved from "on order" to "schedule for production."

I wonder how long it takes from the "schedule for "production" to actually "at your dealer"?

Since I'm a January delivery awaitee as well, I'm only guessing here, but I'd say it's 4 weeks. My dealer said my build week was going to be the 50th of the year, and that they expected to have the car before Jan 14th... So 4 weeks from build, to cross the pond and arrive at your dealer is probably a safe guess. I just found out that cross country delivery for after purchase (my route), takes two weeks, so I gotta try and occupy my time for two more weeks yet! I'll live.

Hang in there, Timmons!

If it's 4 weeks, my MCS could arrive before end of December. But with Christmas and New Year holidays, January might be a safe bet. I just don't want to get all excited for nothing.

Seems like alot of black coming in January!

I'm getting a Black/Black MCS from Classic Mini. Just got my order in today which should have a Dec build date and a Jan delivery, so the waiting is just starting.

We ended up ordering:
manual
3 packages
leatherette
HK
rain sensing/auto dimming
anthracite

I wanted the 3 spoke wheel, but apperantly they still want an extra $250 for that option. I was under the impression that that was a no cost option, but maybe that starts with Jan build cars.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to go from one step in the order process to the next? (ie...on order production, on route)

As a member of the 'Can't Wait For January Club 2003', I can tell you the time left will feel like an eternity, but is well worth the wait. My Cooper was built December 5 a year ago and arrived here in SoCal January 21. there was a delay in shipping as my cooper was originally scheduled on the Tri Color (which sank enroute to South Hampton). But... well worth the wait.

Davehopper...
it can take a bit of time for the statues to change in the owners lounge. more over, The Ol is usually a bit behind the times. If you call MINIUSA, they will tell you the real status.
