Hey, I'm early_apex's wife (uh... thus the username)

I still can't believe it's happening so fast... especially since our local dealership said "August" was the soonest we could get one from them.

It blows my mind that we might be driving her in January... WooHOO!

e_a_g

(seriously tho... we need to sell my current car asap!!)

How do you know the tracking number for your MINi? Did you receive one from MINI USA?

this page explains alot:
http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?faq=faq_delivery

with your production number, you can signup at the MINI owner's lounge. there, once you car enters production you can get your vin. with your vin you goto the WW site and track. that tells you what ship you're on and when it should arrive

i'm currently trying find the Jingu Maru at sea with the oceanweater.com site. anyone have experience with this?

according to WW, the JM left Charleston on 12/10 and should arrive in Germany on 12/21. I'm using the Marine Observations maps to search for the JMs call sign, "JPPT", but so far haven't found very many labeled ships.

i also noticed that the trip from Charleston to Germany is scheduled to take 11 days and the trip from Southhampton, UK to NY, NY is scheduled to take almost 20. anyone know why those are so different?

Greeeeeeeeetings,

Ordered my black, black, black MC on 12/2. Got onto Owners Page and can see that my Mini is 'On Order'. And I can't wait to move on to the next step. I'm checking it evey twenty min. Ha.....I"ve got it bad. My dealer said it's prob. a very late Jan or early Feb delivery. The sooner the better (but I probably don't have to tell anyone that!). My current car's (Jeep Wranglar) lease ends in Jan, so I'm ready to motor.

I've had an MGB, Miata, Mustangs, and Jeeps and now I'm moving UP to a Mini.....please hurry!!!

Just heard that my '04 IB/W MCS arrived at Mini of the Hamptons today. It should ship out of there next week, and I should hopefully get it in the 2nd week of Jan.

Once I got the call, I got so excited I checked out Jet Blue and found I could fly to JFK from Long Beach for $120 bucks, I then checked Yahoo driving directions and decided that the 2,900 miles and 45 hours of driving would be a bit too intense for a long weekend. Oh well, I'll stick with the shipping and just try and hang-on.

1/3/04 is the build date for my CR/W MCS. How long after that should it take to
arrive in Los Angeles? Great fun waiting!

Just today, the Owner's Lounge told me that Pepe is "Scheduled for Production"! Yahoo!

I've got a VIN and everything. My MA noted that production started on Pepe on 16 Dec 2003 and that it would probably be born within a week.

After that, Classic Mini says about 30 days until it arrives in Ohio! Then my wife and I fly out there to pick up Pepe and motor back home to Montana.

Conveniently enough, we'll take care of that pesky break-in period during the motor home. Going to see several relatives that we haven't seen in a while and maybe go up to the Great Lakes or Mackinac Island or something for some of those recommended motoring trips.

Can't wait for January!!!

I talked with my MA the other day. He said that our MINI's build/production should be finished by Friday(12/19/03)...But, I actually went to the WW site and found out that they have already received my car at the Southampton Port. It's set to sail to South Carolina on the Jingu Maru, and should be there on January 6th!!! It just gets better every day!!!

What features are you guys looking most foward to in your new MINi?

I am a huge fan of the Sunroofs...

>>What features are you guys looking most foward to in your new MINi?

sunroof, dsc, 6 speed, SC, OBC (had this on my last BMW), and xenon headlights.

things i'm least looking forward to - front wheel drive and heavy stock wheels/runflats. that and the several days it will take for the car to get from Classic to WA. when it's already mine, but i can't drive it yet. grrr. the waiting isn't too bad now, but i think those last few days will be the worst

so who here has been waiting the longest? any west coasters expecting a car in jan after a 9 month wait? we probably have one of the shortest waits since Classic was able to change the spec for us on a car they had already ordered. i think we got the changes in on dec 4th, and our car was completed on about the 12th.

early_apex_grrl,

I'm in Los Angeles and ordered my MCS late November. The following week my car was scheduled for production and the build date is 1/3/04. Add about a month for the car to get to me, my MA says sometime in February. That's three months since ordering and to me that's not bad for the west coast!

Hi, everyone! This is my first post on the "club" thread. Ordered my CR/W MC from Mini of Pittsburgh on Nov. 19 & finished production exactly four weeks later (this past Wednesday, Dec. 17). As of now, I'm good to go & booked on the Jingu Maru. My wife has been giving me no end of grief as Mini-anticipation/longing has quite overshadowed Christmas cheer this year for me. Nothing I find under the tree from Santa will equal taking delivery of my Mini next month!

Anybody notice that the Sail date for the Jingu Maru has been pushed back twice? It started out that it was to set sail on 12/24. Now it is set for 12/28 !!!!!WTF? I WANT MY MINI!!!!!. Sorry I had to vent.

Cheers,

JD

Dang! I just saw that too. Oh well...It only comes in to Charleston, S.C. (my mini's port) a day later on the 7th. I feel your pain though. Don't worry, it will be over soon.

yeah... the delays are frustrating!!! Especially now that I'm starting to get excited about Olivia.

I just keep telling myself, ok... at least the boat is still afloat... maybe the delay is to make sure it's sea-worthy... I'm willing to wait for that. Thinking about 243 minis sinking into the Atlantic makes my stomach turn.
