This SUCKS!!! I just looked on the WW Site. My MINI was origionally scheduled to Leave on the Jingu Maru on the 28th....Now...I has been moved to the Resolve which does not port in South Carolina until the 13th!! That puts it a week later than we were expecting!!! I can't take much more of this...I want my MINI!!!

I also got bumped from the JINGU MARU. According to the WW site, I'm now scheduled to leave (today) on the HUAL TRITON- gets into NYC on the 8th. But after the disappintment this past weekend of not getting on the JM, I won't get my hopes up until I see I've been loaded & the ship has sailed.
Looks like I made it onboard the HUAL TRITON & am on the high seas.
The missus & I stopped by MINI of Pittsburgh last Saturday to get a MINI "fix" & ended up taking out a demo CR/W CVT on a drive. The MA said it was a slow day for them (it was a beautiful spring-like day in the Burgh) and we could take it out as long as we liked- I wanted to say, "Okay, how about until mine comes in?"

I found the Jingu Maru!
If you go here you will currently find it at about 35W 45N (that's the top center of the page). It's call sign is JPPT.
You can track it in more detail when it gets closer to the US by going here, clikcing on the appropriate parrt of the map, and then clicking the "Marine Observations" circle at the top of the screen.

We're almost there. I can almost smell the new leather
!!!!!
Cheers,
JD

Sorry to hear about that!
Before I cancelled my order with a local dealership, I found that Classic had a MCS with options similar to what I wanted. Moreover, Classic offers 20% off the accessories and also a better deal on JCW kit installation. The car actually arrived before Christmas, but I wanted JCW kit, aero kit, and some other accessories. So, I waited. Julie from Classic is great.

This past weekend a friend of mine gave me a "Bit o Brit Immersion Pack" to get me acclimated to British culture before my MC arrives. How funny- it had tea, english muffins, altoids (which I'd never noticed were made in Great Britain), a few other "British" items as well as a little CR/W diecast MINI. Actually my father-in-law is a Brit (came over to the States for college & never left) & he seriously wanted me to get the Union Jack on the roof, but I like the unadorned, contrasting white roof too much so I had to disappoint him.
Man, I'm envious of you guys (& ladies) who were on the Jingu Maru. If I hadn't got bumped off it to the Hual Triton, I'd be "feet dry" now too. Oh well, the HT gets into NYC tomorrow so I'm not that far behind you.
Stopped by our insurance office today to check on having the Mini added to our current policy & I might as well have said I was getting a Ferrari Enzo the way the ladies in the office went ape when I said I'm getting a new Mini Cooper. Pretty funny- they said I'd have to bring it by to show them. Too bad I'm married- I don't even have the car yet & already it's a babe magnet!

Well...I thought I was safe after the Resolve set sail...I'd been bumped of the Jingu Mau, but surely I'd be okay on the next ship...Well...I just checked the WW site and it's arrival to Charleston has been delayed 2 more days...All these delays have set my arrival back almost 2 weeks now...Maybe something good will come out of it...
I know what you're talking about, davehopper. I also got bumped from the Jingu Maru- now the arrival date this cattleboat (the Hual Triton) my Mini is aboard has been pushed back yet again. First it was scheduled to get into NYC yesterday, then it was revised to today. But this morning I check WW's website & find it's not scheduled to dock until tomorrow! At this rate I'm guessing it might actually make it into port sometime next month.
Of course, this waiting is all part of the Mini-experience, right? and is one of the things that sets us apart from those who have lesser cars (read: "every other car on the road"
. But isn't it funny how we're conditioned to expect instant gratification (microwaves, drivethru windows, etc) and when we actually have to wait for something & practice patience, we act like it's the worst thing in the world?
