Looks like Mini is looking for more ways to get the bucks
out of people. The three-spoke wheel is a $350 option, just for
the wheel...

I was interested in it, now my interest is waning...

More info on Gabes site,
bridger.us/mini

caio,

-Matt

If you order the "Premium Package" and want to "Upgrade" to the 3 spoke MFSW, you have to pay $350 in top of the $1,300 for the package. Remember that MFSW is already bundled in the PP.

Don't care for the looks of the new 3 spoke wheel and I am glad that it is offered only as an option. Much prefer the better integrated looks, comfort and functionality of the 2 spoke sport wheel.

I also say this news over on Gabe's site (still love NAM!). I was so glad to see the three-spoke will just be an option as I like the current one much better. Seeing as how I've been having to wait til next month to order my Mini (MC, CR/W, CVT, 15-in. 7 Holes, no extra goodies) I wasn't looking forward to the changeover to the new steering wheel. Anyway, glad I'll be able to get the two-spoke!

they are saying that both wheels are the same price, so it is an option, but you don't have to pay the extra 350... but you CAN pay 350 now and get it...if you like it. I heard that the new steering wheels have bluetooth capabilities. So if you have a Bluetooth enabled phone, this could be something to research...and then post your findings

Great, I'm happy they're giving options (as I like the 2 spoke).

i dont think the new steering wheel has btooth - i think it is an option that will be avaialable sometime - and retrofitted into old cars - the middle button on the back left of the steering wheel is supposedly for it

For the extra $350, I'll stick with the 2 spokes! Save the $ for performance upgrades.

I dont plan on buying the premium package, so whatever the deal is with the extra 350 once that package is added, i dont know. But for Me, the one option that I am getting (after the sports package) is the MWSF, and I think in 3 spoke. I will have to see and grip one first tho, get feel for it.

The two spoke is actually closer tin design to my '86 Volvo, who's steering wheel I loved. After going from my jalopy to the parent's suburban (before they traded it), the suburban's wheel felt inadequately small. the radius of the wheen was significantly smaller than most other cars I've been in. not sure why, but it didnt exactly convey a sense of control which is important in such a big and heavy tank. I hate driving big cars, that suburban is what I LEARNED on...

Ok, I have a few questions.

If I order the Multi-function steering wheel in 2 spoke design it's $350.

How much is it if I order just the three spoke with no Multi-function?

How much is it if I order the three spoke with multi-function?

Will this be for the 2005 model year?

What month did the 2004s come out?

Thanks.

I prefer the look of the two spoke myself. Would there be any advantage other than if someone prefers the look to having the extra one? Steering options?

I'd get the 2 spoke wheel for myself and the 3 spoke for my passenger. That way if I fall asleep the other person can take over. You know, like in a 747. Ah, flight attendant, can you bring us more drinks?

I remember driver's ed cars with two steering wheels, minihune. It wasn't a good concept since the two would only cancel each other's moves out. I hope you haven't already ordered the additional three spoke one.
