i got a call today from my salesman at crevier and he gave me the production # for my 04 cooper S...

i checked out my car at miniusa and all the specs were wrong. he said it will take a few days before the order 'properly registers itself' and then all the correct specs will be shown.

is that really normal? because i'm worried that my order's gonna get screwed up =(

This is completely normal. Your dealer gave you a slot for a car that they had ordered for their stock. Those are the specs you are seeing. It takes a day or two for the miniusa site to be updated with your information.

When is your car due? You may want to join one on the "I can't wait" clubs. It's great fun to hang out with other excited impatient people.

wondering how long it took your dealer to get the production number to you after you placed the order. I ordered weeks ago for early Dec delivery and can not get my dealer to even return a call about when I will get my production number.

Thanks

I ordered my MC yesterday over the phone and received an email with production number in about an hour.
qpid, I also got the wrong specs with that production number and ALSO had a fit!! I keep checking the website every two hours to see if they update to MY specs .

Supposedly prodcution will start on the 31st (Halloween! what an omen) and they hopefully delived by early Dec. Hey - maybe your and mine will share a berth on the boat!!
I can't beloeve I wrote that; this MINI-mania is a sickness....

qpid; Is Crevier Mini still charging over MSRP for ordered MCS Mini's? When I last checked, it was $1800 over sticker. I simply refused and went out of state to place my order. Way too many greedy Mini dealers in CA

Please make note that the production week that they assign you is the week that your MINI must be finished in order for the assembly line not to get behind on it's schedule. If you have estimated production week 44, the week that ends on Friday 10-31, then your MINI must be completed by 10-31. Many times they are completed earlier in the week.

Before your MINI reaches Status 112, the production week can change and you can make changes to the order too. But once you've hit Status 112, your production week is locked in and Your MINI will be built in Week 44.

Good luck and have fun tracking it!

Thanks, Pebbles. Now I understand the process better. Where are these status numbers posted? At the Owner's Lounge Tracking site? Right now it says "on order" but I don't see a status number.

For Status Call 1 866 ASK-MINI

Some Service Reps will give you allot of information, some will only tell you what you see in the Owners Lounge. They do not keep track of how often you call so if you get a "less than helpful" person, just call back and get a friendly person. I've found the Owners Lounge changes my status about 2-3 days after I know from the ASK MINI rep!

Also - Save this link as a favorite!
I didn't use it much at first, but now I'm going to it all the time.

Hi Pebbles,

Thanks for all the excellent info.

I have one question. I noted on the link you provided that they mention that it's possible to get a copy of the Owner's Manual in the Owner's Lounge. I can't seem to find this info. Any thoughts ??

Thanks
