R50/53 Quality of BRG?
I am interested in buying a British racing Green MINI, but am concerened on how the dark colour stands up to wear and tear as well as environmental abuses. What is the opinion of current BRG owners? I have a black Honda, and will never buy a black car again- too muctrouble trying to keep it looking clean and unmarred. I hope the BRG will be more forgiving, or am I fooling myself?
I went from a black Accord Coupe to a BRG/B MINI. The green is almost as hard to keep clean as the black was. As w/the Honda I spend more time drying the MINI than I did to wash it. The good thing is that there isn't much to wash. All MINIs tend to have a dirty tail due to aerodynamics (or lack there of). The bottom line is I'd rather drive it than wash it - it will just get dirty again anyway.
Same here. It's been almost a week since I washed my MC, and it definately needs it. The good thing is that most of the car doesn't require that much to wash it, only the front bumber and the back. Drying it does generally take longer than washing.
The metallic paint makes the BRG a bit easier to keep looking clean than black, but it still shows a lot of dirt because the green is so dark.
I still think it is a great color, but a lighter color will be easier to keep clean between wash days.

I ordered mine in BRG/B because Randy said that on average, the BRG cars dyno a little bit more hp than the rest (no joke), so trust me, you're getting a "quality" car with a "quality" paintjob

Randy didn't happen to say that while he was under the influence of cold medication and running a fever from his recent illness?
I sure hope the BRG is the fastest color!

Raider,
I like my BRG. I just sold a sliver car though. It was a lot easier to keep clean. I bought this car for transportation and exercise, so the constant washing, feather dusting and waxing is what I wanted. You have to ask yourself if that's how you want to spend your free time. It is for me.
After owning a black car, you might want to take a break and get P/S or E/B. It's your call.

Ahh yes...BRG is a bit dark on cloudy dayz, but on the sunnier ones, its a beautiful color.
And while it does show off the dirt, think of the exercise you get from washing and
drying it every weekend, (this makes up for what little you'll get from driving everywhere)
