Holy February shine!

So to battle the winter blues I decided to do a bit of waxing on the old mini. I went through a lot of articles and had basically decided to go with a poly wax instead of the standby carnauba that I have been using. I decided to go this way because of the idea that a poly wax would be quite a bit longer lasting than the 6-8 weeks of carnauba shine. After doing a bit of research I had decided to go with Zaino or something similar, the only problem being finding some without the hassle of ordering it through the internet. So I went to the local detailing shop to enquire about the availability of a good high quality poly waxes. "Oh no, you don't want to use those, you want this" was the reply that I got. What was this? "The World's Best Wax" Apparently 46% Carnauba by volume. OK I thought sounds good but why not poly? Sales guy says that poly is harder on your paint than this stuff, says poly will actually remove the natural oils in your paint and cause scaling and blah blah blah. Hmmm, I think. He also says that this wax won't turn your black plastic white. That's a plus I think, so what the heck, I'll give it a try. Guy guarantees me that I won't be disappointed. So the instructions say put a thin coat on with a cloth or the palm of your hand (!), wait 1 minute then buff off. Recommends 3 coats. Off I go, didn't clay bar as its February and I'll leave that until Spring, put one coat on and I'm thinking, "Well its OK, but definately not the world's best", second coat and I'm thinking, "This is looking pretty good, maybe I'll go for 3 coats", third coat and I'm now thinking, geez maybe this is the World's best wax! Now my mini is Jet Black and its got lots of swirl in it, but 3 coats cleaned up most of the swirl and left a shine that was unbelievable, topped it off with a bit of Lucas Quick Mist which is my other new favorite and the results were incredible, paint looks brand new, shine is deep and amazing. I'm not sure if its the wax or the 3 coats, but it sure was easy to apply, way nicer than my Mothers carnuaba. Whole process took about 1.5 hours. Pretty much wipe on wipe off. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts but I've never had a wax come close to the shine that this put on. Expensive at $39 for 3 oz, but that should be enough to last me for the next year and a bit judging by how much I used. If you're looking for a nice wax for a darker color, I'd sure try this one. Will try to upload some pics tomorrow.

Don't have any before pics, here are some after ones. www.worldsbestwax.com, guy in Toronto makes it. Pictures aren't that great but the finish was just like a mirror as you can see by the reflections on the paint.

Oooo. look at the shiny MCS

Looks good, the product appears to be very "user friendly" as well (based on the descriptions on the site).

Looks good! Was it true that it won't turn your plastic white?

First thing the salesguy did was walk outside and put a big gob on my wheel well plastic, just about crapped when he did that, but no white! He said something about silicone/solvents in regular waxes or something causing the plastic to go white?
