I just picked up my MINI from the dealer after the 10,000 mile service. During the service they also upgraded my software to 34.0. During the drive home I noticed that the CVT responded better and came off the line at the red light quicker. I am pretty impressed by the upgrade.

Caveat: On my 5spd Cooper I had a stumble when slowing, when hot with a/c on. They upgraded it to V34 at 10K and introduced a huge flat spot on acceleration ARRRGH!  This is a common problem I've learned with this version.

Glad yours improved.

Yup, turn the AC off.
Or add about 30HP in good mods and try again.
I blissfully drive along with AC off all the time. It's a very bad bad bad habit.
I might be a little hot but I am merrily going along.

Truth is I do drive 98+% of the time without AC because the time I am on the road it is not as hot- otherwise known as twilight or dark. Except on track days but I have my windows down so still no AC. See I told you I wasn't making stuff up.

I used to drive a Geo Storm. A fun, zippy car but like all 4 cylinder automobiles any time I wanted extra oomph I had to switch off the AC. Got really good at it too

minihune, that works perfectly well in Hawaii where there's a breeze to moderate the temps. It is NOT an alternate in August in HOT & HUMID Tampa FL if you want to arrive anywhere without soaking thru your clothes. Besides, other cars don't have this issue, why should we put up with it from MINI?

Having just been through another Las Vegas summer, I prefer the acceleration to the AC. The only time the AC was on this summer was when my wife was in the car, or on the 3 days it rained.
I think that other cars, especially 4-cylinders, do have the same problem. The reason it's so noticable in a MINI is that drivers are used to their cars rocketing away from lights, instead of just driving away. I know I am.
