MC Head Swap?!

Issues have arised and now i'm faced with a decision.

About 2 weeks ago my MC died on me. No reason, i wasn't speeding, as a matter of fact i was just coming off of a stop light in 1st gear going 10 miles an hour and my engine started mis-firing.

I just heard back from my mechanic, and he said that my Cam and Rockers on Cylinder one are shot and will need to be replaced. I really trust this guy, and i'm not one to double guess him, so i'm not taking it anywhere else. He has quoted me 1200 for parts and about 400 for labor; this is for OEM Cam and Rockers. He said the old rockers could be just slapped back in, but no telling if they will cause a new cam to die on me later down the road. I told him i would get back to him and see if I could find any other places for aftermarket parts.

Now i know what everyone is gonna say, so don't. I'm not dumping my MC and getting an MCS, but my question is, can you swap out the MC head with an MCS head? I was looking through a bunch of the vendors' pages and can find Heaps of MCS heads, and stage 1 upgrade kits, ect. ect. but nothing for an MC; let alone an MC complete head to swap with.

I figured if i'm gonna do any swap of interal components at this time i might as well go big, instead of going with OEM. Otherwise i'm just gonna spend more if i decide to do it later.

If you're gonna go big, talk to Jan. He's got R50 headers and intake manifolds in the pipe line, as well.

I can honestly say I've never seen a mention of aftermarket rockers. Doesn't mean they don't exist (or can't be fabbed for that matter) just means I have yet to see them. If no one has a solution, it may be go to OE for those.

Thats what i'm thinking, I figured i'm not going to be pushing 400 hp, or any mad speed out of the top end of an MC, so i don't see there being a reason to have to go with anything other then OE. I didn't know if there would have been somone out there that made any cheaper then what the dealer sells them for.

Tell me at least what kind of beer he likes because I know I'll call on him sooner or later. Be it with current R50 or future planned '53.
