Aero kit or not???

really thinking about the aero kit a lot lately..... for the R53 with JCW.
don't know if it's worth it.

how many of you got the aero kit and what was the thinking process behind it?
different from everyone?
or just because it looks good?
or because it does some purpose like improve drag Coefficient or something?

how many of your didn't get the aero kit and wished you had ? and then ended up getting it after???? ( me included in this category)

from an aeronautical engineers point of view, the aero kit does relatively almost nothing to decrease your drag. However, it does look daaamn slippery

I ordered my '04 MCS with it but only the sides skirts and rear bumper. I wasn't crazy about the front. Anyway, it can be ordered in sections which can lessen the blow of one big chunk of cash.

Please post pictures of your AERO KIT.

Anyone got a nice hyper blue one with R90 ? or 18" JCW web wheels?

I got mine when Classic was having their closeout sale on the prepainted aero kits. I loved the look on the Italian Job movie cars, so I knew I had to get it. I have yet to install the side skirts and rear bumper. I wasn't too hot about the cheesy brushed aluminum looking stickers for the rear bumper, so I ordered some carbon fiber looking ones from minspeed. Hopefully we'll have good weather this coming weekend, so I can install the side skirts and rear bumper.

I'm also looking at getting some R90's to complete the look.

and some have done that too -- aero kit with slat grill

By the way, as you can see from the basic terms shown on the links I've provided (post/pics/aero and aero/kit/oem/grill), the search function, though not perfect, is quite useful

^ damn you -- I had convinced myself that I didn't need to upgrade to the aero kit rear bumper . . . and now I have to go order one.

PS How do you keep the inside of the sport tips clean???!!!

Yea, I had mine put on before I picked it up. It is pricey, but worth it.

I wipe 'em with some interior cleaner wipes actually. It doesn't do a great job, nothing I've tried does - but it's easy and quick. I was thinking of spraying them with high-temp paint in a glossier finish that isn't so damn porous.
