>>Wuhoo! Mine just arrived at dealer. Just a few more days for accessory installation and I'll be motoring! FYI, like for kevruss, my experience with Owner's Lounge was that it was only about 1 day behind throughout the process...not too bad.

I just picked up my CR/wht MCS today. It's been at the dealer since the first week of Sept getting the aero front bumper, white tailights, and 3M bra put on. Chrome Mirrors are being shipped to me. Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's finally here, I finally got to drive it.

Hi there!

I have a quick question for you guys. Has anyone tried playing a MP3 encoded CD in your head-unit?
Over on mini2 there are unconfirmed rumors that all cars produced after July would have this capability. Could anyone confirm? Thank you very much!

Looks awesome! About time we got to see some pictures.

Any thoughts about putting some black stripes on? I saw a DS/B with black stripes in the dealership when I picked Nittany up and it looked fantastic!

Thanks.

Not planning stripes yet. First things first...tomorrow I deliver the Saturn to my brother in DC (it will end up going to my nephew).

I just ordered a EuroShelf from Classic (MCO Sponsor Directory) and will install it this week.

What type of stripes were they? I really like your new stripe.

Thanks! The ones I saw at the dealership were just the standard MINI stripes. I just wanted something a bit different so I went with the Driver's Edge from Cooper Flags. It was a tough choice. They've got so many interesting options.

Good luck with the shelf install.

Picked it up and drove home. havn't had it for 48 hours yet and have 750 miles on it. it will be broken in by the end of the week. I got hit by a rock but it didn't chip the windshield. and was bombarded by thousands of moths in Nevada. I averaged 30.1 mpg on the trip home with the ac on the whole time. this thing is very comfy cruising 90 in nevada deserts. I will have to be careful. I got the new cup holder. it is kind of ugly. but very functional. I will probably leave it in as i used it alot the first day. I love the xenon and the fog lights. only thing is the seats get un comfortable after 4 hours. so by hour 12 I was ready to get out and get into my own bed. but so far I really like the car.

the Ironic part is the mini was to replace my old warn out truck that wont die. it has 250 Miles on it. sunday night 7 hours before my wife and I were to fly out to get the mini. my wife's 4runner blowes a head gasket. hum. Se said well I guess I get a mini until you fix my car. so I am still stuck in my truck until I am done with the repairs. ho hum.

at least she will let me drive when we are together.

I've put almost 2,100 mile on the MCS since getting it. Also let several friends take it for a spin. So far, no problems; only joy.

Time for a check-in. Anyone expecting a September delivery not yet get their MINI?

Well, I've had mine for 11 days and I've only got about 800 miles on it. What a fun car to drive! I have an appointment with the service department already, however, on Wednesday to fix a problem with the weather stripping at the top of the windshield. It has decided it wants to come off at about 70mph. Not a big deal but still an annoyance. That means I'll have to be without the car for a few hours. That's not good. I also have a small ding, somewhat similar to what a hailstone might do, on my roof above the passenger door from what I suspect to be a walnut. Again, not a big deal and it is hard to see if the light isn't just right. Overall, however, this is a great car that is a ton of fun to drive.

Had my CR/W Cooper for a week and 530 miles. Very happy to say the engine is turbine smooth. None of the "shutter" I noticed when letting off the accelerator like on the two Coopers I drove a month ago at the dealer. They must have upgraded the CPU or something on mine. Got the new cup holder. I like it, plus it's always good when a company is trying to please their customers. I'm also very happy with the options I choose, especially the sunroof. To me the car is much more fun with the ability to open up the top. Even when the sunroof is closed I like the light, airy feel it gives the interior. I'm pretty picky and I haven't found anything to complain about yet.......thank goodness since it's 200 miles to the dealership.

Picked her up on saturday and drove home 278 miles and the car was perfect. The S is powerfull I don't think I really need the WORKS but who can't use more power. This weekend we're driving to Laguna Seca to see the Ultimate MINI Challenge. I have one bad thing to say about mini I can't sleep for more than 2hrs. at a time before I wake up and have to take a peek at it, but I might wear off in a year or two.

Well, I finally got my car yesterday! It's an O4! (car is still an 'it' at the moment)
Here's a picture I took today:

The dealer gave me a bunch of flowers for the inconvenience of having got my order wrong, (see my post on page 4 of this thread) threw in the TLC pack for free and gave me a MINI rucksack with MINI car-care products - wax, interior cleaner, wheel rim cleaner, plastic care emulsion, a soft cloth and, bizzarely, a sponge with a scouring pad on it (which will not ever come into contact with any part of my car.)

Initial impressions - not as good as I remember the test drive being, to be honest! Perhaps that's because I'm being more careful now it's my car. I'll just have to get used to the handling I suppose.
Can't ever seem to get it into reverse and still haven't got a handle on the revs it needs - have stalled lots!
Love the shiny paint tho' and the new car smell!

Hopefully I'll have the racing stripes put on within the next week. It looks a bit bare without them.

Congrats, kirstycud!

Too bad about the wait, but at least you got an '04 out of it...you're probably the only member of the September club with an '04!

Time to check in...

Waiting for the ship to dock seems like a distant memory. The images my brain has absorbed over the last 4,850 miles have dulled that pain...I've taken trips from Harrisburg to Boston, Erie, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia (a couple of times).

No real problems so far. I will talk to the dealer about a software upgrade for a bit of stumble when I go in for 10K. It seems to occur when I pull out turning left at an intersection; perhaps I just notice it more when I have to cross over a lane.

Other than that everything has been perfect. An absolute kick to drive! I have no regrets. That's something I've said about other cars (Jetta GLI, Volvo 850) but none have been as much fun to drive.

I've been supporting NAM sponsors...PakShak microfiber towels (SUPER--especially the waffle weave for drying), Zaino (sunglasses needed), Classic (euro shelf for the EZPass and garage door openers--home and work), TireRack (Borbet B wheels with Blizzak snows)... Thinking about racing stripes but that will wait until spring.

How is everyone else doing???
