It's Friday, and this weekend will be mod time for my MINI:

I will be doing a whole bunch of interior mods to my MINI this weekend:

The trim paint on my door Y-beams has started to peel, so I am using that as an excuse to do some interior redecorations:

I will line the door pockets (my panels are magnesium) will a charcoal gray felt to reduce rattles by stuff in the pockets. I will put dynamat stuff in the doors to reduce speaker vibrations. I will paint the Y-beams, as well as the center column down posts, and the tach trim ring in a dark metallic anthracite.

I will remove the speedo and adjacent two vent trim rings and paint them in my exterior color: electric blue.

I will install the Euro parcel shelf and AUX input adapter.

I will install the Forge Motorsports aluminum coolant expansion tank (long trip coming up and I don't want to take any chances, since I still have the old tank design).

Wohooooo!
I will post some pics when I'm done!
Can't wait, I'm so excited!

Markus

Have fun Markus,

I'm envious of the Forge tank that you and VdubDoug have.

Sounds like fun! Can't wait to see the pics. I think colorcoding interior pieces could be very cool.

Can't wait to see the pics! I love your idea of painting the speedo and vent trim rings.

What's a forge tank?

I just got my aluminum coolant expansion tank from Forge Motorsports. It is really cool, check out pics from

vdubdoug's Forge tank installation

however, I just realized the tank does not come with the cap, you have to buy that separately (duuhhhh!!!!).
The tank is $160, the cap another $40. I will use the plastic cap for now.
