R50/53 $500 in accessories
$500 in accessories
I just purchased a 06 Mini Cooper S (Space Blue ,Silver top)and my question is the dealer is offering $500 credit towards any accessories. What are some good accessories to get. I know I want to get the i-pod adapter interface (does anyone have that and if so does it work ok and will it work with nav.) any other sugestions?

Welcome to NAM, it sounds like you got a hot looking MINI. You will not regret your purchase.
For accessories,
look into getting the euro parcel shelf, glovebox organizer, an arm rest if you want, windsheild sunshade, car cover, boot organizer, etc. There is alot of stuff available.

I say the rubber floor mats, the rear sun-screens.
Floor mats (your MINI will likely come without), the rubber boot mat, and sunshades are what I would go for. Maybe a nice keychain if they don't throw one in. There are some pretty cool shirts and hats, too.
Go to driveclassicmini.com and click on "accessories" on the right. There you can kind of browse through what's available. Motoringgear.com has all the shirts and hats and that kind of stuff too.

Rubber mats especially if you live in the snowbelt. Glovebox organizer, cargo net, rubber rear boot mat, mud flaps (espcially if you live in the snowbelt).
The factory ipod adapter for the first gen cars is lousy imho. You're limited to only 5 playlists and there's no text support. I recommend you get the Dice ipod adapter. I have it in my car
. I get full scrolling text support and I can access all my playlist. And of course it charges the ipod. Check out the audio section on this forum.

I had the same set up before I got the Dice. But fiddling around with the ipod while driving proved downright dangerous-at least for me.
Then when I parked the car, I had to pretty much disassemble and stash everything away. The Dice was well worth it. Everything is hidden from view. The only thing exposed is the ipod jack under the toggle switches.
