Venting!!! Grrrr

I'm am so so sick of rude mini owners!!!!! I was on my way to bolder this afternoon with my better half and the pup, and a mini got on the high way a few miles up. He eventualy got next to me and I tryed to wave and the guy looked at me like a was freaking crazy. I may he saying this out out of anger but people like him dont deserve to have a min.

Hey Tommy
I'm in the Denver area and I also have a HB/W MCS. I have the exterior chrome package and my baby is named Merlin (MERLIN2 on the plates). I don't always have time to wave but I at least I try to flash my lights. Maybe we will run into each other sometime.
Are you related to Terry Zito? He is an old friend I have not seen in years.

we're finding more and more MINI owners that dont wave.

i don't mind waving or a quick nod, but i hate those
that try to start a lengthy conversation at stop lights.
and this isn't just MINI owners either...

Relax. Let it go...

There's always going to be a subset of MINI owners who are either (1) preoccupied with other thoughts; (2) having a bad day; or (3) haven't fallen into the cult (yet)...

prolly just having a bad day or he might have just got the news on how much it's gonna cost him to replace the strut supports, door actuator, windshield, brakes or get the rust problem fixed under the door seals! LOL....

Maybe it's my neighborhood (Englewood) but I find good about waving back when I have 1/2 my body through the sunroof waving!!

I agree with Mineartg ...so long as I wave I am good with it...their loss if the other MINI does not acknowledge...it is rude but not much we can do about it. If the rest of us stick together life is good and Happy Motoring!

Some of them seriously just don't get it. And that's their loss, not yours.

I smile and wave regardless of whether or not I get a wave in return. It's about giving, not receiving!

Watch out for the oriental girls in the Vancouver area. Some of them look so angry they look like they could rip your hyde off.

On the other hand, I waved a lady near my place and she broke into a smile that just brightened up my day

I got that beat...

I've been leaving MINI Spotter cards with the address here and our local club's URL on people's cars (you can get them in the store here). I was at Target and pulled up beside a filthy, trash-filled yellow Cooper w/ an inch if crusted-on brake dust. Somehting told me that the owner wasn't exactly a "motoring enthusiast", but I left a card anyway. When I came out, they'd put it back on my car.

Something tells me that's a non-waver right there, yessiree. Grrr....

Matt, thanks for the laugh. I needed that.
I too wave with no expectation of a return. If I get one back, well, that just makes the day better!

That person was probably thinking, "Why is he waving at me? Do I know him from somewhere? I don't recognize him..." And that would be a perfectly understandable response.

Nobody waves in San Francisco. MINI is just too much of a common everyday car. I've counted as many as 10 during a walk around the neighborhood with the dog.

I think it is a Colorado thing. I was up in Denver today and I saw 6 MINIs during the trip back and forth, not one waved back. I'll keep waving, cuz that once in a blue moon when someone waves back is worth it

PS...Tommy and Shelly, missed you guys last night, we had one heck of a BBQ

I heard that! As I'm sure Matt can attest, living in a town with a MINI dealership right down the road, you tend to get a lot of non-interested MINI drivers passing you on the other side of the road. I wave at everyone of them I pass, and have received TWO - count 'em, TWO - responses back (one of 'em was probably you, Matt!).

I just do like the penguins do..."Smile and wave, boys...Smile and wave..." (Madagascar, anyone?)

i usually try to wave at every mini i see but i got used to the ones that dont wave and dont bother anymore.
but sometimes im in deep thought and dont get to wave when i see a random mini i've never seen before. it passes me before i realize it was in fact a mini that passed me.
there are more peopel these days that just buy the car as a car. not as a mini.

oh well..wat can we expect? there are tons of people that dont take care of their cars. wat's the point in enjoying a new car then? but like i said..oh well. it's their car.
