R50/53 1 Week at the DOCK??
A week after being unloaded from the boat. Is this normal??? It's not like i havn't been waiting a while for my MINI, but at least it wasn't just sitting somewhere gathering dust... How long was your MINI waiting at the dock? Should I be concerned??

I was told by my dealer that each piece on the ship must be individually inspected by the Port Authority for contraband. I'm sure it takes a while to sort all of that out, and then actually prepare the vehicles to be shipped to the right region (hopefully). Not to mention that there are probably all sorts of vehicles on the ship, other Bimmers, Land Rovers, etc.
ROCKETBOY!!!! Don't be worried!!!
Mine was there for about that long too....it isn't unusual as far as I know.....
I want to see pictures when your Mini gets to you!!!!!

Storer... Ok.. makes sense... As a matter of fact, that's kinda what I was thinking about, (when my head was clearer) as I've worked in cross-border freight fowarding before, (and my wife works at a customs brokerage) i know that freight and borders really don't get along...
L. Mini... Don't worry, I'm borrowing my brother in law's digital camera as soon as I get my MINI... (He just bought it a month or so ago... great timing! I'll work better than the stills my camcorder takes... )
Lizzi... I thought of that too, but my mornings are spent painting my new apartment, and packing, so i barely have time to call ASK-MINI....
Thanks for calming my fears... i can relax a bit now...
(And what really sucks, is that my old car, the one i'm trading in, the break caliper is almost totally frozen, so i've got the wife's car untill i can trade my old one in...)

My mini was offloaded in Halifax on the 3rd of August and wasen't at the dealers storage facility until the 15 of August. I took it more than twice as long to get from Halifax to Toronto as it did to go from Southhampton to Halifax. This is normal though.
And the best thing is I get her tommorow.
You know I'm not sleeping tonight!!

How are you guys finding the ship info? My mini was 'born' Aug 12th, but still awaiting transport. My heart can't take the disappointment each day I check and see no change in status. I don't know how I'm going to handle the stree once it hits the dock.
GiJoe call ASK MINI they can tell you or check out the Wallenius Wilhelmsen web site . My car was "born" July 24 waited 9 days to be loaded on a ship on Aug 3rd. then 11 days at sea and now 10 days at port in NJ. i am sorta getting use to waiting
i finally got word from MINI.COm that my MINI will be released to carrier today in NJ so tha means i should FINALLY be getting mine on Friday next week IF everything goes well kinda want it before holliday weekend
My MINI was off-loaded from the Hudson Leader in New York on August 12, and apparently is still sitting at the dock. I'm really getting tired of waiting and I'm getting a bit concerned about it. I just hope there is nothing wrong with it. It had an estimated delivery date of 21 August, but as of today (24 August) it's still gathering seagull poop.
