R50/53 Factory JCW package clarification
Factory JCW package clarification
Okay...so, I bought my car with a factory installed JCW package. I was under the assumption that it included the JCW suspension. However, I was wrong and have to spend yet another $1000 if I want that.
This made me wonder if I ever really knew what came included in the approx $6,800 JCW package.
Can someone just list all of those items that SHOULD have been included? I know exhaust, CAI, badging, pulley....but what else?
Thanks for the help.

ported & polished head and ECU flash.
back far eough ago, the SC was swapped for a teflon coated unit, but now all of them are coated.
don't know if the brake upgrade is included as well... I *think* the old JWC rotors are std. on the 05/06 S as well, and am sure some else will correct me here...

The factory installed engine kit also was grouped with the brake kit.
Engine kit includes:
Head
Supercharger (pulley)
Spark Plugs
Programming
Injectors
Airbox
Exhaust
Suspension was/is a separate purchase.

Yes, the factory JCW option (only available from the factory for 2006 models... prior to that it was only available via dealer install) includes the JCW Tuning Kit and the JCW Sport Brakes. Also, the LSD option was standard/required on every factory JCW MINI, as was the sport package.
The factory JCW was actually a pretty good deal, because you saved on labor. You still spent just as much money, but it included the brakes too... so compared to getting the two JCW upgrades done via the dealer, it's like getting the brakes for free.
The JCW suspension was never available from the factory (except for the GP model). It's always been a dealer install. You didn't get screwed.

Can easily run close to $2000 if you puchase the kit + JCW springs at MSRP and add dealer installation.

that's just plain nuts

then again...my local dealer charges $2500/installed for the JCW brake kit for new buyers of non-JCW cars

ah sweetness...so I got all those...cool. i wasnt sure about the plugs and injectors....
yeah which is why i wont be getting it installed at the dealer. you can get the complete set of struts from morristown mini for $655 (not including shipping) and have it installed at Helix for $250 (which does not include alignment).
In the German market, the R84 wheels were simply replaced with R94 when you ordered the JCW Package.
Don't forget the JCW springs too, which are sold separately from the kit.
Still, I agree that it's an example of MINIUSA making things more difficult when they really didn't have to.
Actually no, the JCW Sport Suspension "kit" includes both the shocks & springs. however, I don't know what Morristown was selling, becuase taken literally, pl4ypl4y did indeed just say "struts".
Having to buy the Sport Package was a "deal breaker" for me selling my 2002 JCW MCS and buying a 2006.
