How do u activate the self locking doors??

(2004 MCS)

 

It's a dealer programmable option. So you either have to go to the dealer and get it activated or find someone with a dealer type tool to do it.

what's self locking means?

 

When your MINI hits a pre-set speed (in mine, it's 10MPH) the doors automatically lock.

Yours don't do this right now?

 

i wish i knew what mine was... every once in awhile after going down the higway at 75+ MPH i get to my destination and they are still unlocked. sometimes i barely get out of the driveway and they lock. wierdness.

 

my old mini used to lock... =\ I kinda like the two pump chump to open the doors ya know? i miss it! lol

 

I hate the self locking in mine, I'm going to have it disabled one of these days. Does anyone in the Orange County, CA area have the tool and want to make a quick $25?

Also, the feature where you hold down the unlock button on the key to open the windows and sunroof is deactivated on mine and I want that turned on.

 

I really don't think many people out there have the tool needed. Because they use their computer after they plug your key into their key reader. if someone got their hands on that, mucho props to them.

 

it's fun to pump the doors twice.

 

absolutely...and it makes my friends pissed. So ive got that going for me.

 

my friends get mad too..along with my family members.
i always have to say "one more time" and half the time i have to point where the door handle is.
but i do like watching them look for it. i give it a couple seconds before they ask.
