15% Modded R53 MCS vs 01 Honda Prelude

My buddy has a 2001 Honda Prelude 2.2 Li VTEC with CAI but auto trans. and stock. What are my chances of beating him in straight run? I know that I will smoke him in slaloms but has second thoughts once his VTEC kicks in. Any of you guys has raced with H Prelude?

Uness you are racing in an authorized facility I don't think I would be talking about racing.

When you go to the track I would put my money on you. A buddy of mine has a 2000 with the H22 motor in it and an auto trans. It is a heavy car for it's size and I would put my money on you but it would be a close run and maybe even a drivers race.

No street racing here but in the track. It's gonna be fun if he takes the challenge.

I sold Hondas for a few months back in 2001. The prelude VTEC w/auto is quick, once it kicks in, but with a 15% pulley, my money is on you.

A stock MCS can take him (I know), 15 % should be no problem at all.

Bench racing is lame. Post time slips from the drag strip when you're done.

Drag??
I'm sorry, but driving in a straight line is as much fun as watching nascar. Just my opinion...

I agree, but that was the original question.

NASCAR: If I wanted to watch colorful vehicles drive in a circle, I'd flush my Hot Wheels...

It'd be a driver's race - on the track. Do it and post numbers. VTEC is fast (heck, my box-stock '02 Odyssey VTEC posts faster tested acceleration than a lot of cars).

Try it with about 3 times the horse power as our MINI's have, might change your mind.

Sorry to hurt your feelings guys, but my money is on the Prelude. A H22 Prelude with manual transmission will pull hard on a stock 04' MCS. I assume the automatics aren't much slower than the manuals. You might get the 20-40 jump, but once you go through 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear...Vtec FTW.
