Sure......! Just remember speed kills. Speeding killed three of my friends. If you have the HP use it responsibly.

It is comforting to at least be aware of where those who have and need to worry about a radio, computer and a firearm are. Plus the biggest reason for initial purchase was the emergency vehicle alert after a few instances in residential nieghbor hoods where the local FD didn't not use sirens as not to disturb the locals, I dang near got run over twice because I didn't see them until they were on top of me. Plus I've called their bluff before, but unfortunately that didn't spare me the "you kids think you own the road" speech.

This thread condones awareness not speeding. Speed is generally a contributing factor and it is more often the inability to maintain control at a given speed that causes an accident (or other factors such as chemical influence, mechanical readyness, following to closely, distrated driving). You can be driving 10 under the limit and be beyond your personal ability. Track days, autocross drag stip open nights are all controlled enviroments where one can get their fix for speed and assertive driving.

Good judgement and decision making are the key to surviving. In my area we have at least one car accident every week or so that kill between one and five teens at a time. While high speeds are often involved I'm yet to learn of an accident where speed was the cause.

Now you just need to mod it to go "bling bling" instead of "beep beep" and "braap braap"

The lazer sound is almost a "bling bling". So far so good with mine, nice to know which direction to look, but haven't spotted the bogey every time. They use green Malibus and bronze Buicks around here so, it's hard to spot the source.

That's tough to do when the average speed of traffic is 15-20mph over the speed limit. Even at 5 over, you will be causing road rage and become a safety hazard by impeding the flow of traffic. Maybe where you are speed limits are set reasonably, but not here. They would rather keep them low and be able to ticket anyone they feel like to make their profits.

I'm sure that was sad But lighten up ... I seen kids killed probably long before you were a twinkle in your mother's eyes. Dead on "Dead Man's Curve" (no kidding we had such a place). Dead from speeding down the "strip". Dead because they were just stupid. Dead because they were dead.

Dead and bleeding on the highway. Dead and bleeding while the crowds gathered to gawk.

BTW, HP has nothing to do with speeding. People die from speeding in 30 HP VW bugs.

Like I said ... I just like to hear it beep

before that though, Valentine needs to update those damn
1980's arrow lights... make better light guides or something. it is
a shame to see lighted arrows that are not fully diffused. come on,
it's almost 2007 for crying out loud!

I ran the cord over the windsheild, down under the a-pillar rubber, under the dash edge using zip ties, around the center consel to the cig lighter. It's closer mute.

I own a radar detector, but I never use it anymore. I have no real reason to. I have never been pulled over for a driving violation, and the cord draping over my instruments got annoying. Does anyone know of a cordless radar dectector?

if you have no reason to, why even look for a cordless one?

how about you just unplug it and keep the detector on the glass?
there's a cordless for ya.

You an very easily run the wire behind the a-pillar plastic, and if you want permanently wire in the detector as many of us have done.
But yes, Escort does make a battery powered detector: http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.ht...&creative=9325

here's the 7500 hardwire. the rear detector sensor is not blocked
by the mirror. sunvisors can be down on both sides and still not
block the rear sensor. tapped into the ignition fuse so that
it will only turn on once in the engine "ON" position.
