Out of class, classmate takes me for a ride in a SL55

So I am coming out of a team meeting with one of my group members at University and I'm moving towards my padlocked bike when he asks me if i want to go for a drive. Then i see it, a Black on Black SL55 AMG, my mouth drops to the ground and I make him take me for a ride. We were driving down Comme Ave in boston, easily keeping up with traffic. The low end torque on that thing is amazing, I havent been pushed back that hard in car since I was driven in a friends WRX STI dropping the clutch at 6,000. I was impressed by its speed, although is rather boring to look at. I was then dropped off, back at my school and I had to bike 3 miles home, hooray!!! just cause he didnt want put the bike in the back.... oh well, hehe, i enjoyed it.

he's from indonesia and i guess has the money to spend. He only keeps them for a few years and then gets something else. He lives in Cambridge and our school is in Boston, so its either the T or a car... haha. I dont know, I just dont really like the looks of a car that costs 100 but could almost pass for a car a third of the price. I would have choosen differently, thats all. It was a very nice car though, i wouldnt have minded it

I regularly exercise a relative's new SL500. It is a sweet ride, but much, much heavier than the MCS, and therefore not nearly as sporting. Given my choice of amazing real-world (not fantasy) rides, I think my favorites right now are the Lotus Elise (fast and light), the Audi S4 (AWD and a 6-spd. V-8, even comes as a ragtop), the Cadillac CTS-V (a four door Corvette), and of course, everybody's hero, the MINI Cooper S.

My neighbor is a car fanatic and has taken me for spins in some of his cars, which have all become part of my list of future cars to own... A 96 BMW M3, a 70's Ferrari, which is really nice, cant remmeber the name, a 355 Spider, and a RUF 996. I havent been in the RUF, but ive heard its amazing. I would be very happy with the S4, its such a beautiful car, or maybe the M5, eventhough they arent that much more affordable.

When I was back in college at USC, I would always see M3's, NSX's, etc, for sale for dirt cheap. Rich international students had to unload them before they moved back home after finishing college. That's the life

haha, you do like life better topless, but yes, it was my opinion. I just dont think it deserves the money my friend paid, looks wise at least, power is a different story.

Cheers,
Jonathan

The new SLK55 AMG would be a less costly alternative. Pretty to look at, too!

Dude, I can keep up with traffic on Comm Ave on my bike! The speed limit is freaking 30, and there are crosswalks every 100 yards! Sounds like your classmate is one of those spoiled BU punks that almost run me off the road on a regular basis while trying to show off their wheels in the city. Was he talking on the phone while he was pushing you back in your seat with the torque?
