What car from your past do you regret giving up?
I know that we are all obsessed with our MINI's. So what car in your past do you still regret giving up? Tell us what it was, pictures if you got 'em and why you gave it up.
For me it was my 1988 Isuzu Impulse Turbo. It was fast. It handled great with its Lotus tuned suspension, and had the coolest interior Layout of any car I have had. The head gasket blew and I opted to basically give it away for $500 dollars and bought a Ford Splash. I have always regretted it and still do this day.
Impulses were originally desiged to be the Gen2 Scirocco but VW opted out and the design was sold to Isuzu. The Italain designer [off the top of my head I can;t think of his name, Guilardo I think] also deigend the DeLorean. If you look at the pictures you can see many similaritues. I still miss the car and even bought a used one a few years back to restore but parts were so difficult to find I gave up on the project and got rid of it.

In college I was BMOC with my 5 year old Datsun 1600 sportscar. It was incredibly rare even then with the 2000 being the more easily obtainable vehicle. It looked like this but in baby blue with the steering wheel in the right spot too:

It was impossible to find parts and I got tired of calling AAA at 1:00am to rescue me when it broke down every weekend.

So many regrets...
My very first car, a '69 Camaro with 130c.i. inline 6, 3-speed,Then a 75 Mercury Capri (when they were a German build - sweetest interior ever). Last, a BMW Z3 COUPE (Hard to find, only 600 were made) - not very comfortable but VERY stylish, even if it did look like a honda from the rear
NO regrets for getting rid of the: 1. Pacer (
what WAS I thinking?), 2. Suzuki Samurai, 3. 76 Chevette Scooter (went up in flames in Iran during the revoultion
).

I don't really regret giving it up, but I'd have liked to have kept it. I had to sell my old Lancia Y10 when I moved to the US. At that time that entire market segment was missing from the US market, so there was nothing equivalent here, I had to settle for a Civic (which while a very worthy car was a bit big).
Compared to a MINI, the Y10 was 10" shorter, and 750lb lighter, with a 1l 45hp engine (there were faster models with more engine). 0-60 eventually. It really did get 40 MPG (imperial gallons) even when I was driving it. They claimed a top speed of 89mph, I clocked 107 (downhill with a tail wind), and the speedo was only 2mph off.
It was quite well appointed inside, even in the base model I had.

The colour was a very difficult to pin down "Metalic Jade", slightly greenish silver. I didn't realise it wasn't actually just silver for a couple of months.

1972 Chrysler Newport Classic. Monster Car almost 5000 pounds. There was more room in the trunk than most double door refigerators. Six people could sit inside and not touch each other. Driving on the highway was like being master of a cruise ship. First car I put a decent stereo in. I almost never had to put gas in it because everyone wanted me to drive them around.
I still look around for one, mine suffered a catastrophic timing chain failure at 65mph and I got rid of it. That was 18 years ago and I still miss that car.

Mazda Protege5 (5MT) i had about 5yrs ago. it was a decent dd and if i

the FitS is a much better car than the protege5, but it's a similar concept...

I had another British built car, a 1974 MG Midget (RWA w/ 1275cc). It was fun while it lasted.....I'm just hoping my wiring is a little better in my Mini. Oh........and the oil actually stays in the car instead of on my garage floor.
I ended up selling it for a song when I went off to college...

The car I miss most was the one I lost in a divorce settlement to my ex.
My Granddad's 1955 Copper and Cream colored Pontiac Star Chief.
Pontiac's first V8, lots of stainless, leather 2-tone matching interior, and the hardtop design with no center division between the windows. Fender skirts on the rear and a visor over the front window with a prism over the speedo so that you could see overhead signals (They didn't have tinted windows in '55).
The Indian chief on the hood ornament lit up. It was a great car but being in outside sales, I had to make the decision to keep my Lotus Cortina and let her have this one due to the price of gas.. (probably about 50 cents a gallon but I covered a large territory).
Last time I saw it was about 1971 sitting as a centerpiece in an antique gallery in San Diego..
