SaN JOSE GRAND PRIX!!!!!!
I'm going for the Friday session. Hope the race will be more interesting than last year (snore), and this year they promise a second main walk-bridge... last year it was a major jam just to walk over the track on race day (think 40min just to walk up, over, down)
We ran our MINI in the USTCC support race last year and we are scheduled for this year, but CHAMP has not confirmed as of yet. We are confirmed and plan on racing as a support race to CHAMP at the Portland Grand Prix, June 16-18th. Our next race would be San Jose, July 28-30th. The USTCC Series is looking forward to San Jose as last year we fielded 33 cars. If San Jose is a go we'll be looking forward to seeing all the other MINI's and their owners.

Just got home from picking up my "papers". Thing look good. Bridges are up,(unlike last year)last bit of fencing going up.
Champ Cars are now Paddocked inside the Convention Center.
Stood around and watched Servias car being fired up for a leak check. Mmmmm......Methanol!!
See you there!

Flew over the course twice last night, saw the bridge and some activity around 10:30pm... twice you might say, well the pilot had to abort the landing.
I'll be there Fri only... last year they left a gate 'hole', but i already had my tix anyhow.

$15 parking
$25 general admission
$0 liquids (brought my own, $4 for vending machine bottled water/soda is a rip!)
$5 late lunch (La Victoria, a few blocks outside of the venue)
$ouch ... sunburnt, tired and sore feet.
$priceless... another year, and again "this" person is blocking my view

for the price of Friday general admission, I was able to cover all of the track, watching from different corners. A lot of the fence weren't covered up (although it might change come Sunday), so there were opportunity to see all the way down the track, etc. I even wandered into the Champ Car paddock from the back entrance in the morning, there wasn't anyone checking. I got to peek into the pit lane from the stairs outside of Starbucks. The motocross jumps was cool to see. Only thing I would have liked to gone was the Fast Lap.

Hey Jim you were on tv... for a second, they panned onto the front straight island

.... race and tv coverage was cool, too bad they panned away from the Tracy/Tagliani fist fight, but you could hear some words exchanged that would be cause for *beep* *beep* *beep*

Cool!! Thanks for the ScreenShot. That was an awesome place to shoot. Cars are less than 3 feet away from you! Glad I remembered my earplugs!
I was walking over to Turn 3 when i heard the collective "OOOOHH" from the crowd. Was able to see the action on the Jumbotron. Just re-confirms my opinion that Tracy is an idiot. Tag was the smart one...He left his helmet on!!
